I don't have a link. I just read it in CAR & DRIVER. It's a "printed" magazine article, so you may have to get off the computer to read it.

However, for you lazy net geeks out there... I will search for a link.

What do you mean dead for 07? Isnt it coming out in late 07 as an 08 model? isnt that the way they always do it?

Yeah...get off the computer, get in the car, drive to the store, buy a copy of that crappy mag, drive home, read it. Avoiding that is not being lazy.

Not posting more info on a magazine you've already got into a post you already started.....now THAT is lazy!

BTW, the wife is going to pick up a copy while she's at the store...:D

****Edit...well they were out of C&D so she bought R&T

"While the 335i Coupe is no M3, it produces enough excitement for all but the most hardcore enthusiasts. And with the M3 discontinued for 2007 as we await the all-new V-8 car, it's a pretty good stopgap".

So...duh..no 2007 MODEL YEAR M3.....but doesn't mention that it's release has been pushed back to calendar year '08 as many of us might have inferred from the OP.

prolly just waiting for the detroit auto show to build hype and then release in spring/summer..just my thoughts

plus they have to give time for the 335's to sell..if people had the option of a new m3 not as many 335 would sell, they'll make a killing on selling 335's and then having people trade them in after 1 year for a m3

i dont think they are even in the same ballpark. 20k more for the m3.

BMW ALWAYS skips at least a model year with each new M3. This is standard procedure and way old news. Somebody yank this stupid thread.

there are people that upgrade from $10k cars to $60k cars so 20k isnt that big of a deal once you're in the market for that expensive of a car unless if its gonna be your only car and you're scraping by to afford the 335 in the first place...people that have lots of money want a performance car now, plenty of people im sure will buy a 335 to hold them over till the m3 comes out

plus the 335 is only a 40k car if it has no options..most people will spend about 45k on one if not more so more realistically a 15k price difference...which is what a $200 a month difference on a lease/loan, and to most people that can afford either of the 2 cars its very do-able

I see BMW updated their site to include the 328 and 335 sedans and the 328 wagon R and AWD.

Very do-able, but you take a huge loss with the first car only having it for 1 year. That would go into the more money than brains catigory.

I got my cheap 325 to hold me over till the new M3 comes out. If I had gobs of money laying around I would pick up a 911 to hold me over for the new M3 not a 335. my $.02

FWIW, I am leasing a 335i to hold me over for 36 months until the M3 has 24 months for bugs and needless markup to die down. By then, though, there may be enough aftermarket support for the 335i to make it worthwhile to buy my own car and chip/intake/exhaust it up to 400hp. I can't do much with race suspensions because the roads in NYC are awful. Of course, if I can afford it I'll buy an M3 as soon as my lease is up. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The E30 M3 was ended in 1991, the E36 concept was revealed in 1992, and released in the 1993 model year in Europe. The E36 M3 ended in 1999, E46 concept revealed in 2000, and released as a 2001 model year. This is BMW just following BMW production cycles.

Yep, we're talking about M3 production cycles here, since that was the topic at hand.
