Longshot but before I drop $100 on something I will use for a week and then never use again, I figured I would ask.

I need to borrow a XD memory card for my Fuji digital camera for a couple weeks. Leaving on Wednesday for a two week motorcycle trip around Italy and don't want to worry about overfilling my current 1gb card. I will not have access to a computer so I cannot clean the card off during the trip so I want a backup.

I figure this should be good karma for having pimped out my SRS and CE tools.

Anyone?

Wish I could help man. I have Compact flash and SD memory cards I'd be more than willing to give up.

Having said that, Sorry for this worthless post

Thanks. I think Fuji and Olympus are the only ones that use the XD card. I've got CF and SD cards from other devices, but I never can get one to go into the memory card slot on the Fuji camera, no matter how hard I push.

Buy a bigger hammer or push harder? :dunno

Just break down and buy a real Digital SLR and be done with it, love my 20D.

Comes with 1.75G of CF (and, apparently there is lots of CF to be bummed here in the Ga section).

The former approach would surely speed up the latter. A hammer and the Fuji would cleary lead to a new digital camera.

We have been kicking around the move to a better digital camera, but the problem is that we have a 20 year old bought in Japan Nikon that takes the most honest pictures imaginable. Moving to a $1k digital camera would signal the end of the Nikon and I am not sure we are ready to take that step.

Plus, the Fuji was found in a cab in NYC on halloween a couple years ago and is always a great story to tell. The story, including the pictures of the former owners and the fine NY boobs that had been capturing with the camera, will be a hard one to let go of. The action sequence that led to an open fist being swatted at the picture taker was priceless.

I'll bite. Send me a PM with the price list. I'll be in Douglasville tomorrow night dropping off the dog with my parents.

I had the same thoughts when I was considering moving to digital. My two workhorse film SLRs were...well, workhorses.

I took the plunge on a DSLR a couple of years ago, and I haven't used the film cameras since. The instant gratification of digital and the crop factor (which makes your telephoto lenses even longer!) are pretty attractive. 35mm film is still around, but for how long?

That said, the ergonomics of my old film SLRs are better than digital. My F100 used to fit so much better in my girly hands than the D100, which is positively chunky by comparison. :az
