View Full Version : fender rolling in PA
ummpwr 09-17-2006, 04:08 PM Anyone want to get a fender rolling meet, im in "central" Pa(state college), I know the basic concept but have never done it before. I know we could rent one for 50-60$, So if anyone wants to slit the cost, I would be down.

jrtcbmw 09-17-2006, 05:43 PM subscribed...looking to get it done, or maybe do it myself
salvia.D 09-17-2006, 05:45 PM add one more to that list.
ummpwr 09-17-2006, 07:41 PM Here is what i was thinking http://www.esetuning.com/product-p/fender-roller-rental.htm
salvia.D 09-18-2006, 10:50 AM wow dude thats cheap enough to just get it yourself, i'd give whoever decides to rent it money to use it.
DTM325 09-18-2006, 10:53 AM if you get you shit together you could have this by the meet and have some people go in on it........
just a thought....
salvia.D 09-18-2006, 10:59 AM ^i like that idea.
wonder if you have to wait on a list, i know some places that you can rent from but u have to wait for the previous person to send it to you when they're done.
ummpwr 09-18-2006, 03:32 PM On the site it says "Availability: In stock soon. Order now to get in line. First come first served." so who knows how long it would be, but you get 3 days with it for the price. Ive heard you need to do it very slow so you dont crack the paint or anything, I think it is almost a days job if there is a few of us that want to use it. Anyone have experience using the roller?
salvia.D 09-18-2006, 03:40 PM from what i understand it does take some time, i think it could take a couple hours if not less to do one car. it is a slow process but with the help of a heat gun it would make things go a bit faster, plus not everyone might want a complete roll, some people only roll the fenders a little.
KetteringTi 09-18-2006, 09:19 PM Interested.

why do you want to roll your fenders anyways?? What size wheels are you running???
KetteringTi 09-19-2006, 10:31 AM why do you want to roll your fenders anyways?? What size wheels are you running???
It's more necessary than you might think. I'm having some rubbing issues and I only run 17's.
ummpwr 09-19-2006, 10:35 AM I have the stock 17in m-contours, Im lowered on coilovers and when people sit in the rear and i go around a corner there is a slight rub, thats why i want my fenders rolled.
salvia.D 09-19-2006, 10:36 AM i guess that makes 3 of us in the area that want it done.
ummpwr 09-19-2006, 11:25 AM So we have
1. ummpwr
2. salvia.D
3. KetteringTi
Are u guys all coming to the meet in SC? anyothers interested?
KetteringTi 09-19-2006, 11:28 AM I'll be there.
salvia.D 09-19-2006, 11:34 AM count me in.
**we forgot about 97silver328is, if hes still game.
ummpwr 09-19-2006, 12:16 PM I heard ESE tuning is in Pitt. any you guys near there?
DTM325 09-19-2006, 02:39 PM you guys can always come up early and get it done before the meet.....
not sure how many people need to do it, but i have a heat gun and tools....BUT I WILL NOT DO SOMEONE ELSES CAR!!!!!!!! (i don't need to roll my fenders, but i'll be the supervisor)
ummpwr 09-19-2006, 03:41 PM So who wants to rent the roller?
salvia.D 09-19-2006, 09:20 PM i wouldnt mind doing it before but i hate the feeling of having to rush. anyways im not in a "huge" hurry to get it done, maybe we can do it some other time that we can set up farther in advance and so we wont have to feel rushed in order to get it done before we all meet. just a thought.
MackinE46 09-19-2006, 09:23 PM I'm down, but I can't drive all the way to state college
salvia.D 09-19-2006, 09:24 PM ^^ y not?
ummpwr 09-19-2006, 10:17 PM Well I agree, I dont wanna be rushed b/c i dont wanna crack paint.
On another note At my house we have a 3 car garage, if it happens to be to cold out, but im in SC so everyone would have to drive here.
ummpwr 09-21-2006, 11:44 AM would you guys wanna shoot for Sat. Oct 7th?
salvia.D 09-21-2006, 11:48 AM i have clinical that weekend :(
ummpwr 09-21-2006, 11:53 AM No prob. I can be free most weekends, whats best for you? Think we could get it organized by sat the 30th?
salvia.D 09-21-2006, 12:38 PM i guess, depends on how long the wait for the roller is, its tough for me bc every other weekend i have clinical ALL weekend including fridays.
ummpwr 09-21-2006, 02:29 PM Like I said im pretty flexable, If you want to be the one to "rent" the roller id give u cash for my part.
ummpwr 09-26-2006, 12:06 PM U guys still interested in this? I AM
Coupe Monkey 09-27-2006, 04:20 PM I heard ESE tuning is in Pitt. any you guys near there?
ESE Tuning has closed there shop and is now run out of someones basement, well thats what I have heard and been told... So I'd double check with them on this just in case anything has changed with their rental service. I think they mainly do online orders now...
salvia.D 09-27-2006, 04:24 PM run out of a basement? makes me feel good renting from them.
ummpwr 09-27-2006, 06:35 PM there are other places we can rent, but maybe if they go out of buss. while we rent it we can keep it:devillook
