While looking for a zero turn mower, I came across this bike.
I'd look into myself, but moneys tied up right now.
Thought I'd pass it on.
I'm selling this bike because it is too high tech for me. I am in the process of buying something simpler (old "R" BMW/ Triumph / Harley ?) I have owned & ridden just about everything, but this bike is like trying to figure out what makes a UFO fly...beyond my limited intellect. It is absolutely beautiful & garrenteed to turn heads. One of the few combination long distance tourer/sport bikes. SOme people (on the web) profess that this is the best bike ever made. THis model holds milage records (many of these bikes have over 100,000 miles without rebuilds.It took me over a year to find this bike and 1000 mile drive to get it.
It is a 1985 K100RS BMW. ----- 1000cc inline, water cooled, fuel injected 4 cyl. The 1985 model is "special". Before that year they had 4 valves per cyl. starting in 85 the had 2. In the 86 model the went to ABS brakes (which a lot of people including myself DO NOT LIKE). This bike has never been dropped while riding. It has at sometime fallen over on the stand with miracules little damage. Nothing a little sandpaper & black spray paint on the engine protector crash bars won't fix. The bike has a really nice set of hard bags.
It has a brand new Battery. It has a clear FLa Title. It has 43K miles on it.
NOW THE BAD STUFF!!!! (???) it won't start...... It did untill this summer. It turns over fine but just won't start. I think it is bad gas. I drained the tank & put in fresh fuel before starting it this year, BUT I could not figure out how to drain the lines & fuel pump. I (tried) to burn the (old) gas in my lawn mower & it wouldn't hit a lick. But it RAN fine - no smoke, No leaks, good trans. etc.
It has NO brakes. The front ones need bleeding & the REAR master cylinder is bad. I have a new (rear)master cylinder that goes with the bike. I also have the larger clear windscreen.
It needs a new back tire.
Sold AS IS/WHERE IS. YOU move it. Price $2750.00 FIRM (sacrifice)
You should be warned that I am an impatient,sarcastic, intollerant ass at times (ask my ex wife). If you ask me "can I drive it home" or will you take $2749.50 for it, or what color is it? or equally silly redundant stuff - I will assume that you just got off the short bus & really shouldn't be on a bike anyway & ignore you.
