View Full Version : $281 fine for donuts... I'm pissed
imola e36 09-16-2006, 01:13 AM so I was having a great night, football game, then party's, then as I was droping my friend off at walmart parking lot he said "you know your feeling donuts.." so I did some. Then we pull up next to his car and as he's getting out this cop rolls right up and they both get out. Next I know I have a 281 dollar fine.
sry had to vent. I feel like fighting it, but will I get anything off? It was also in my parents car, will they get anything in the mail about it? I'd rather just not have the hassle of them knowing and getting into it.
I really don't think 281 is far though. I was ok with maybe 120, but this will be almost 300 bucks just gone.

Don't do what your friends tell you to do.
Don't do donuts ever.
NHbmw325I 09-16-2006, 01:44 AM what kinda car? just wondering. I didn't realize a ticket was so high for donuts, I would see what your options are, I am sure someone else has been issued a ticket for this.

I remember that day!!! I remember you tried to do some donuts in your Boxster, but you were only able to do those one wheel donuts. You looked silly out there. :laugh

Not sure if you could really fight it. But next time you feel like doing donuts make sure you have a box of them in your car for the cops. LOL.
joenationwide 09-18-2006, 11:00 AM You can't fight the law.
Cars are for getting from A to B.
The highest national speed limit is 75 so why do they even make cars that go over 75?
Why would you do donuts in the first place, do you know what that does to your gas mileage? :nono
Sports cars/high performance cars are not meant to be driven for their intended purpose. They are only for status symbols/trying to pick up girls that would otherwise be out of your league.
Please understand and abide by these rules. Thank you. And be a good american and vote Republican.

1996BMW328I 09-18-2006, 06:46 PM Imola,
I think that you need to sell me your car for punishment. Yes, your M3. There's no excuse now that you have a ticket to pay.
Go fight it. You never know when the cop isn't going to show in PA. They're lazy. Plus, you might just have the chance of having the points dropped.

KetteringTi 09-18-2006, 09:15 PM I got reckless driving on private property for ONE donut in the Sheetz parking lot at 3am with no one around. I think my ticket was $180. Derry Township cops FTL.

haha derry is right next to me, I'm in ligonier.
I think I'll just try to fight it, if I fight it they can't give me a bigger fine then I already have correct? and how should I go about fighting it? I was obviously doing it, so what can I possibly say? and I dont think telling them that I was drunk and high will work....
96cosmosM3 09-19-2006, 01:30 AM Is walmart parking lot considered a private or public lot/drive?
+1
I would try to argue that it is private property. Get a lawyer.

But, they will then contact Wal-Mart, who will probably press charges AND charge you for the "parking lot repair."

imola e36 09-19-2006, 11:44 PM how do I find out if I got any points? The cop didnt say anything about it and it doesnt say it on the ticket.

all moving violations have point associated with them. check your state's dmv site for a listing of the number of points for the different offenses.

GUINNESS 09-20-2006, 01:21 PM Because points wreck insurance rates?
Cry me a river... point wreck insurance :rolleyes Guess people should think about that before doing donuts or speeding.
Points, looking at AT LEAST 2 or 3, at most 6.

xenonk 09-20-2006, 05:33 PM here you go perps.. go find your criminal records:
http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/inquiry/inquiry-index.jsp
reckless driving is anywhere from 2 to 5 points easy.. it's all if you are a state resident or that you live in a state that shares points.. DE, VA, DC, and MD all share the point system I think. PA, WV, and NJ does not.
