i just got a 92 325i. the back rotors are rusty and dont work at all. i tried bleeding one of the brakes and i am not getting any fluid. the front brakes work fine and the reservoir is full. is this a master cylinder problem?

A thought on approaching your problem. Try disconnecting the brake line to one of your rear calipers and have someone step on the brakes (make sure you have something to catch any brake fluid squirting out). I would think that if you have fluid there, then your problem is at the caliper.

is it weird though that both rear calipers are frozen? both bleeder valves are frozen as well? my ABS light isnt going on when i start the car, is it possible the ABS system is going crazy and doing this? they might have removed the bulb when they replaced the cluster.. i dont know much about ABS. anyhow... ill try disconnecting the lines,

While it is possible that you could have a frozen piston on both sides of the car, that's a bit unlikely. A more likely scenario would be a fault in the ABS module that is blocking fluid to the rear wheels.

a bit off topic: did BMW have ABS in 1992?

i bet they pulled the ABS light out of the dash before they sold it to me. tomorrow im going to put a bulb in there and see if it gives me an ABS warning light. if so, what could cause this problem in the abs? bad abs pump? or abs computer? i hear bleeding the abs lines are a pain in the ass.
