Well, the time has come. My 95 325i has 160,000 miles on it and is starting to have some problems that are adding up. Anyways, ive always liked the mini cooper. Im thinking of just getting a regular not S and i was wondering if anyone knows if you can fit a 6'-6'2 surfboard in the back of a mini at an agle or however with the back seats folded? Thanks a lot guys.

I think the only way to get the board in there would be to fold both back seats down and the fold the passenger's seatback down/forward. The board might be able to rest on the dash and fit inside. Don't have my tape measure with me at work, though.

There is a roof rack available with a board carrier.

Maybe with the front seat folder back and the tip of the board under the passenger side of the dash.

Or the longest item someone fit inside the mini: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56936&highlight=lumber --check out the last post? Not sure if it helps.

your safest and best bet would be the roof rack. There's a base and a surf board rack from MINI. Or you can try the Yakama or Thule brands to see if they'd work for you.
But, if you slide the passenger seat all the way forward, recline it all the way, fold down the left rear seat...you might be able to angle it in there.

Get the roof rack... its the only way...

I would also advise you to get the S. The regular cooper is a bit under-powered... especially when you have the AC on. The S adds a new dimension to the car. Its way more fun and easier to merge, pass...etc...

+2 ...with the cooper(non S) you won't have as many big power adds as with the S
