vac floormounts/recaro side mounts [Archive] - Bimmerforums

title say it all...i have 2 sets of each(driver side and pass) for the package shipped 500. i have already used a cutting wheel and removed the tab on the recaro side mounts. you can see in the pictures i have disclosed. one set has not been mounted. pming me is better but i should check in with this thread periodically. these are for both e36/46 chassis

I am very interested in the VAC floor mount and the Recaro side mount for drivers side only...I assume this is for non adjustable (no slider) installation...going in my race car...please let me know...I am planning on using this with the Cobra Suzuka GT side mount seat in the car right now...

For those who might search and find this thread later:

Removal of the tab is not necessary if you are using sliders along with the sidemounts and VAC brackets. However, without the sliders, you will need to remove the tab.

I removed my tabs with a cutoff wheel (mainly because I saw it done in this thread), and they still work just fine with the recaro sliders.

80 shipped at this time. people can expect the prices for both side and floor mounts to be dropped considerable when i get me new mounts. i have provided two companies at this time with measurements and templates to make me some custom mounts. when i receive a quote from both of them it should only be a week for me to have the new mounts so i can count my loses with these and give someone a good deal. so for those interested keep an eye on this thread because i'll cut prices big time when i get my new mounts. in the mean time i'll still ship the package of everything for 500 stateside.

Oh, alright...just checking. $80 for the pair would have been a SCREAMING deal. I paid $125 shipped 3 weeks ago for *new in box* steel Recaro sidemounts and felt pretty good about that....$160 isnt a bad price.:)

good news to those interested. i just got a quote that is completely acceptable. i still need to make the trip to the shop to make sure we are on the same page but i should have a much friendlier price on these brackets within 2 weeks.

i just noticed that my links where taken away from sig. i may be heading to sacramento to the fab shop today....tough with work. next monday tuesday should be no problem making the trip, i don't work. if your driving around today be careful of that dudes wife on her bike. she likes to ride on roseville rd.

yes vac mounts are still for sale..there is no update on the price. i have recaro pole position seats. my new mounts will not need the vac mounts and also will allow me to mount the seats lower and farther back while still being able to be put in the proper driving position when needed. i thought about drilling new holes in the recaro side mounts this would have afforded me an extra 1.5 inches or so.

i apologize, updates can be found in this thread. the vac mounts can still be bought for what i want, nothing less at this time. 170 shipped per set. i did drop my templates and spoke with the engineers today and should have about a 12-15 day turn around i was told.
