DannyH4 09-07-2006, 08:01 PM Hey. I just bought a 1995 525i off ebay for $4,050. My first car! it has 117000 miles. I will post some pictures when I get it. I going to pic it up tomorrow.
Hust thought I would let you know on the car I just bought!
Nutbeem 09-07-2006, 09:42 PM Nice pickup - My first car was a Chevy Cavalier 4 door - if you looked up the word "Shitbox" in the dictionary, that car would be there.
Of course I was just happy to have a car - any car.

They made an E30 335is? what engine does it have? I've never heard of that!
DannyH4 09-13-2006, 05:38 PM 335is?
LJSE34 09-13-2006, 05:52 PM My first was a shit me pontiac grandma
steely 09-13-2006, 06:42 PM They made an E30 335is? what engine does it have? I've never heard of that!
He said it was australia, so must be overseas only model. Good question , I would assume a 3.5, probably M30? Since that was the engine for the e34 535i of that year.
Goat128 09-13-2006, 06:48 PM m30 wouldnt fit in a 3er, only the m20 would fit.
sirtiger 09-13-2006, 08:08 PM congrats... the e34 525 was the 1st bmw I drove... beautiful acquistion
steely 09-13-2006, 09:01 PM m30 wouldnt fit in a 3er, only the m20 would fit.
I thought M20 was only rated at 2.7e at the highest? If so, then I would also be interested in finding what engine came in those models.
DannyH4 09-14-2006, 03:43 PM Here is a good picture. Any Suggestions?

...thats right. 2.7 was the highest, eta engine. highest non-eta engine was 2.5 (e.g. 325i).

Oh man.. I wish I had that as my first car... Congrats.
Your car is screaming for new wheels... Bottlecaps suck, imho. after that, make it nice! Sound is always a good option if you wanna spend money...
Also, if you are looking for some more umph, I would go with an engine and tranny chip.
It also looks like she needs a detail, get some meguiars, some polish, clay bar , spend a day on it and bring the paint back up to par.
Good luck, happy motoring.:buttrock
Goat128 09-14-2006, 05:10 PM the rear end looks a bit high.. i would suggest a drop.
forsaken 09-14-2006, 05:10 PM Oh also, when you do buy new rims, save the bottlecaps as the winter set.. I just noticed you live in PA.
DannyH4 09-14-2006, 06:21 PM good ideas...thanks

DannyH4 09-14-2006, 07:09 PM lol. thanks. the only bad part is I cant even drive yet and I want to drive it!
Goat128 09-14-2006, 07:40 PM you could also acquire some basketweaves, i think they come in 16" (edit: actually looks like theyre 15")?, if you don't want to spend a lot on new rims.
steely 09-14-2006, 09:22 PM lol. thanks. the only bad part is I cant even drive yet and I want to drive it!
Damn, that sucks. It's like waiting for xmas seeing the presents under the tree already.

Damn, I think my E34 was my 3rd car :)
That really sucks, I had to do the same thing when I got my first car because I did not have my license yet.
DannyH4 09-15-2006, 03:08 PM atleast I can do some small things to it so when I do start driving it will look good.

Itsnotme1988 11-26-2006, 09:27 PM 335is is a 3.5L M30. Yes, it will fit. I have seen it done many times. It was not only custom, but was done by Alpina and Hartge. I have seen M70s in E30s....

DannyH4 11-27-2006, 12:21 PM yea I am looking for wheels right now.
glwillia 11-27-2006, 01:52 PM Yeah, BMW themselves even offered an M30-based 333i E30 (turbocharged, even!) in South Africa, they only built about 200 of them tho. I'd say that means an M30 will fit :)
PS WTF? I can't even post the fancy animated smileys until I have 25 posts?!
