The quality of the light looks like any other red/white.. actually looks to be of great quality.. But a brief test fit shows there might be some modification required to get to to fit flush.. You won't find these cheaper.

I think you're on the right track with this.. I tested fitted one of the lights in my car before it was sold and I felt if I shaved down the metal area one of the 10mm studs went into they would have gone in and fit nicely.

I discovered the front lenses are DEPOS.. the rears are unknown as I didnt take them out of their box again...
The rears should fit flush with a little help I think.. I did a very brief fitting when I owned an e34..
They were made for the E34 so I'll assume they should work.
