Hey everyone... I 'think' this is my first post touting our events on this forum... I hope that's Kosher.

The Triangle Z Club (http://www.trianglezclub.com) / Tarheel Sports Car Club (http://www.thscc.com) will be hosting a High Performance Driver's Education (HPDE) and Time Trial event Saturday and Sunday, November 4th & 5th at the North Carolina Speedway (http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki/North_Carolina_Speedway_%28Rockingham%29) in Rockingham, NC. This will be the roval configuration comprising the NASCAR banking turns 1 & 2, the back and grandstand straights, as well as the infield road course section. Total about 1.6 miles.

Similar in concept and execution as BMWCCA, our HPDE consists of four 'student' run groups (beginner, intermediate, advanced, and solo) as well as one instructor run group. We do three rotations each day, with classroom time between each. Each run group has its own dedicated classroom session tailored for the appropriate experience level. HPDE cars do not require any special equipment (except convertibles that require SCCA approved 4-pt roll-over protection.)

Each afternoon we hold time trial sessions for qualified driver's and their SCCA Time Trial, Solo II, or club race prepped cars (all TT cars are requried to have 4-pt roll bars, 5 or 6 pt harnesses, an AMB Transponder, and a fire extinguisher.)

Members of TZC or THSCC get a discounted rate of $260... all others $280. Time Trial entry is an additional $30 (for both days, $20 for one day.) Details on the time trial program can be found at www.timetrials.net (http://www.timetrials.net).

Registration is done online through MotorsportReg.com... You can follow this direct link (http://www.motorsportreg.com/calendar/event.cfm?uidEvent=F29EA299-9F3B-C5BA-7E65A3D56A29D4AB), or simple go there, set up a free account, and search the extensive event calendar for our event.

Run groups are a little more even than I thought... As of 10/3/06: 18 in advanced, 18 in intermediate, only about 10 in the beginner group right now... so still lots of room and plenty of clear track.

All makes and models are welcome!!

Any questions, please PM, email, or post!

Bump since we've still got lots of room in the newbie group and advanced or solo... intermediate is getting close to capacity (25 cars) but there is still room there too.

Overall the event shaping up very nicely... lots of bimmers, miatas, Zs, just about everything.

You guys with Club race prepped cars might be interested in the time trials we run as well (though its filling up quickly too)

Email or PM me with any questions

Thanks for the kind words guys...

I'm very pleased with the event... and everyone there... you guys did great.

CMP yesterday was awesome... very laid back, little to no traffic for the most part (CMP has generous passing zones, so even when there were slower cars, passes were done quickly and corteously). Some really fast cars, some not-so-fast. Chip Stabler was there in his newly acquired E46 M3 racecar... beautiful car. Some very fast P-cars and a sweet Ford GT in like a gunmetal color with blue stripes... (or maybe that was just all the painters tape LOL)

Anyway... should have some pics from both events abailable soon
