View Full Version : Good Deal?
Hayden 09-04-2006, 04:46 PM I was thinking about trading my 96 328i in for a 2003 Nissan 350Z -- good trade?
How much extra would I have to pay, do you think? 3 grand?
Or should i stick with my car?
Just talking to my dad about it earlier and he said it was up to me so I'm thinking about it...
Stück 09-04-2006, 04:48 PM I wouldnt.
Bimmerista 09-04-2006, 05:03 PM $3000?! In your dreams!!
Your 1996 is worth probably $7,000 on a good day & the going rate of a 2003 350Z is roughly $16,000 to $20,000.
Hayden 09-04-2006, 05:05 PM I just KBB'ed for ~11,000 - i might get 8 or 9k for it?
Can't i get a used 350Z for ~14k?
n3wbie 09-04-2006, 05:45 PM you asked and im with mikey your car is worth no more than 7k on a good day, the dealership may tell you yeah we will take off 11 but in all truth theres no way they are going to do that
Hayden 09-04-2006, 05:47 PM Mk - fair enough. I'll just use my money to mod the 328 then.
thanks!
Teaguer 09-04-2006, 05:51 PM Why don't you drive it to the dealer and let them tell you what you will actually have to end up paying . :confused
I think a Nissan would be a good move on your part . ;)

a 96 328i is worth 5500. WHERE THE HELL DOES 11k come from? :lol
I picked up my wife's 2000 328 for 11k just a few months ago. More over, i looked at a 98 323 byzanz today for 6000
Brent95M3 09-04-2006, 09:59 PM I had a 350z for a few months. Great car, quick, handles well. For the money though, you are much better off going to a used M3. If you can sell yours privately for ~$8-9k you can spend another $5k and get a pretty clean M3. This will all around be a better car than a 96 328i w/ $5k in mods. I am now back in an E36 M3 after owning a host of other cars.

Kelly Blue Book...and then I said nobody gets KBB value, so ~8 / 9k...you clearly didn't read my post...
:confused
i'll take it to trophy nissan next weekend
Bimmerista 09-05-2006, 12:32 AM KBB is NEVER accurate. You want to look at how much your car brings in the market, such as on eBay or Auto Trader.
I'm willing to bet that Trophy Nissan (or any dealer for that matter) will probably hit you at $4000 for your e36. Better off selling it yourself, if you detail it to perfection, has no flaws, and if you have records, you should be able to fetch up to $7500 to $8000.
borealiss 09-05-2006, 12:43 AM your 328i can be worth up to 11k if it in immaculate condition and has extremely low miles on it. otherwise it's probably worth 6-9k depending on the condition and mileage. you can pay for an M3 which is around 13-14k, but add another 2-3k for maintenance items and the 350z might not be looking so bad. the M3's cost of ownership is high IMO.

lol @ you......
some bmw owners thk their cars are gold. better yet platinum... an 11 almost 12 year old 3 series isn't worth nestly 8k. you will get it however, if highly modded wit extremely low miles.
