in my garage, right about where the supercharger unit is when the car is parked ... it's been small, and in fact for some weeks I thought maybe i just spilled some motor oil. But the car's been parked for a couple weeks until yesterday ... and now the puddle is about twice as big - maybe 1/8 cup of fluid all in all. I am guessing this is turbine oil of some sort? Is this typical, or reason for alarm?
So um, all I'm basically asking is if it's a really bad idea to drive if there's a small oily leak from where the supercharger is.

Remind me what SC you are running ?
If its the AA check the banjo fittings on the housing. If its a Vortech check the two fittings on the underside of the case. Its not bad to drive on as long as you can identify the location and you are working on fixing it. If it is an internal leak you may not want to drive because the oil is blowing into the intake.
it's a vortech - newish, installed this year. Fittings on the underside of the case eh? Ok I will have to get under there and try to see where you mean. Thanks for the suggestion.

There are two lines on the bottom. One is the feed line and next to it is the drain line going to your dipstick and back into the pan. I would give it a good look before you drive. Also check the feed line behind the filter housing. There should be a small block and a braided or black feed line coming out going to the blower. You may need a small mirror to see back there.
Oh i saw that braided line from above earlier but i couldnt see where it went -but ok now I know where youre talking about - yea mirror good idea.

>> I am guessing this is turbine oil of some sort<<
Actually, unlike the Rotrex AA blower, the Vortech uses the same oil thats in your engine. Its fed from your engine oil system, so if it looks any different than that, well, it may not be oil! If the sc is leaking, then if you touch the oiler fitting, your fingers should come away oily. If its dry, then Id look elsewhere for your source.

Clear oil... Sounds like refrigerant oil. Is the AC working? Did you remove part of the system?
it's not engine oil. it's oily and doesn't evaporate very quickly, but it's essentially clear - not brownish at all. Maybe hydraulic fluid? the power steering fluid is right behind the s/c isnt it.
it's not from the a/c -- this is on the driver's side, a/c compressor is on passenger's

PS fluid is tranny fluid, so its red, or black if used. Brake fluid is a yellowish clear in most cases.. Could it be that?

A/C oil is rather clear. Does the a/c function properly?

curious on the topic of oil loss...
for a Turbo car if you had a thick pile of jelly all around your BOV
and the intake track it's attached to is supposed to be just dry air going to you motor
would that mean a turbine seal is leaking??

Clear hydraulic fluid=Slave cylinder. Check bottom of trans bell housing for wetness..
