Yeah so the previous owner used a aftermarket amp to power his subs/speakers and "bypassed" the stock amp which Im guessing is in good condition still, the amps blew and I took the subs out but now my speakers don't work because the amp that powered them doesn't work anymore, so how can I hook the speakers/headunit (pioneer) back up to the stock amp? Any help is appreciated.

I have the HK system so what I know might not apply to you, but the HK amp has 10 channels at 25w designed to push the HK speakers that had a resistance of 3ohms. Now, the vast majority of aftermarket speakers have a resistance of 4 or 8 ohms. This would probably equal really crappy sound if you hook aftermarket speakers to the stock hk amp.

Its not that hard to hook up an aftermarket headunit up to the stock amp however. The stock radio had 4 speaker level outputs (8 total wires, 1 positive and 1 negative for each speaker) that went to the amp. Most headunits also have the same speaker level outputs. Simply splicing those together worked for me.

Thats not really what I was asking for, my headunit and speakers are already hooked up to my aftermarket amp, but it stopped working, so now I want to hook the wires back up to my stock amp but cant figure out how.

i believe you'd be better off just wiring the speakers directly from the headunit itself- the stock amp will damage your speakers

How would my stock amp damage my speakers? And what would be different between wiring my speakers directly through my headunit versus the stock amp?
