When you and I chatted, I told you that I don't do too much biz on the forums because it was my preference to keep bfc as a place to hang, not work so I will answer you on the forum since you felt like putting it out there.

You asked for a refund because you thought it was a Pio Elite after I had told you the specific model number and explained that it was from the Pro Line and that I did not sell the consumer line; hence the reason it weighs more than the consumer piece. Then you asked for a refund again because you said your DAD wanted you to stay around 3k instead of 4k. Please don’t put me in a tough situation if there is a communication issue between you and your father.

I told you that I would charge you 5-600 to hang it on the wall but had to see the house. I dropped the panel off and explained that it would be more because the living room was a wood paneled room (done very well I might add) and that it would be a bit more. I also thanked you for waiting a week while I was handling my father in the hospital but I did tell you that I was going to be in Chicago on a client’s smart home project. I received a pm from you while I was gone and replied to you and asked you to call me as I had limited internet connectivity while I was away. I never got a message from you and am sorry if you felt blown off.

However, I was very specific in the model numbers and terms and have bit of trepidation about who to deal with. I am happy to hang the panel for your dad. But because of the confusion and things mentioned as well as your dad owning the home, I have to meet with him, give him a written contract and contract with him since he is the homeowner.

Again, I am sorry you feel blown off as it was not my intention, but I was very specific about the whole thing and to be quite honest, I made a “c-note” off the deal. You can buy these less online but you are not dealing with an Auth Dealer who will bring it to your house and provide you with a warranty nor do you have to pay $275 for shipping. I also have your bracket that was included in the price.

I don’t dig the integrity punches though. I have been referral only for 15 years and have recent clients like the CEO of British Telecom, EDS and a list that goes forever. Sorry to be defensive but I am clear on my deals and one lucky bfc guy picked up a Sammy 46” DLP from my house today for $1140 and shit he was in a good mood about it. Quite honestly Joon, I am at the top of my game in my industry and do six figure deals all over the country on a handshake and don't have this much confusion. Let me know what I can do for you to make you feel better about this.

Cheers,

If your dad wants to set a time and meet, I can go over the install with him and do a quick install quote as well as a contract and get it done.

Mike, I seriously apologize if this really was miscommunication. But I did PM and call you several times. Left messages on voicemails only to not have them returned. So yes, I did feel like I was blown off. As I stated in the voicemails, if you were too busy with your other projects to let me know so I could find a replacement. The last time we spoke over phone was over 3 weeks ago when you said you were going to stop by to take a look. I didn't know you were in Chicago until Jason said something. If you need to speak to the homeowner, that would be me as the home is under my name.

Sorry fence foo, plasma does not fade out. They die around 60,000 plus hours.

Work this math problem for ya:

Your age divided by the number of fences you will hit, calculate the down time you will have waiting on the multilpe lifetime repairs you will have and here is the number for ya.

60,000 hours / 6 hours a day rotting on your couch staring at the hole in your fence/ 365 days a year- leaves you with well over 20 years of tv bra. I hardly call that fading. Just my .02!

Good info though, I wasn't sure what the deal was with plasmas b/c people always say what Jetter was saying.

What I am saying is that when it fades you are uber fucked. DLP's just a bulb to replace. Plasma's are nice though, they are really bright, I just never could get over the "disposable TV" concept. I'd rather just replace the bulb but then again, if a plasma screen is good for 15 years, I'll be overdue for about another 2 TV's.

why do you say "when it fades you are uber fucked?" did you read the math he did? that TV will be long outdated (or something other than the fading will occur) before fading happens that's noticeable by the human eye... quit going by "what you hear from your frat buddies" and learn something for once... here's a start (http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasmatv-questions/plasmatvlogevity_1.html#11109622)...

by the way if you read some more you'll see that a DLP bulb lasts a fraction of the time that a plasma takes to "fade"... you'll replace that bulb 6-10 times before your plasma goes bad... i'm not sure where you get the idea that any of these tv's (plasma, dlp, lcd, etc) are disposable...

i'm seriously tired of owning you but you bring it on every time

Not to mention, the bulb in my DLP projector, that just lasted 1500 hours, 500 more than it should have costs around $400! Do the math kid.

Buy your TV's at Costco.

If it's outdated in three years take it back and they'll give you a full cash refund.

If it breaks take it back, full refund.

If it smells funny, take it back full refund.

Instaed of getting bent and taking a hit, why don't you and I keep this a "bfc-friendly" type of thing and consider this fix.

My proposal:
I will help you do the install absolutley free. Yes you will work, but we will get it done. keeps you from taking a hit, gets it on the wall cheap( you will have to supply beer) and that should offset any communication issues and frustrations.

LMK...

Thanks for the offer Mike but I already have another plasma up. I was only bent out of shape cus there was no communication between us. Basically, I felt after you sold me an item, you were MIA. You told me you were booked solid for 3 weeks after you dropped off the plasma on 7/11 and I understood that. My last attempt at contacting you was on 8/18 and I never received a call back after I left several messages. You say you never received any, I'll believe you. Overall, I was just tired at looking at a $4000 box for over 6 weeks.

Whenever I go there and look at there items they always tell me the same thing " well if you buy it from us you can always bring it back for whenver you for whatever reason"

so why is it shady if you follow their rules and guidelines?

It's their business practice and it's worked very well for them.

Hell the $1500 I spent on my Toshiba projector, they'll invest over the next three or four years and turn it into $3,000-$4,000. Then when I do get my refund I'll turn around and give it right back to them when I purchase something else.
Plus this makes me a very loyal customer, so when I need something, the first place I look to is Costco, because they treat me right, again more $ in their pocket, it's just good business.:)

If you are selling it for 500.00, it is a decent deal for someone who wants a large picture on the cheap. It is a native 4:3 chip which changes the lumen and light calculation. When you run a 16:9 image through it, it actually yeilds a bit lower lumen rate then than listed because of the halo on the top and bottom of the image. Projectors are a tough call and the opinion is subjective.

I have a theater in town that I am building for a guy. He is a tweak for the audio quality and is buying 35k in amps and speakers but is going with a 3500.00 proj to satisfy his kids cartoons. Goes either way, some are after the audio and the other half goes for the video.

As for yours, big picture on the cheap will work for someone. Why are you selling it?

Ummm, this really doesn't make sense. First of all, the $1500 you spent isn't 100% profit. Remember, they paid something for that projector. So, assuming they made $500 profit from that sale how do they turn that into $3k in four years? Hell, how could they turn $1500 into $3k in four years? Isn't that like 18% returns?

At that price, they are lucky to profit $250 or so.
