djminkin 08-25-2006, 05:57 PM Anyone know where I can get the OEM carpet set for a E21? Im having a horrible time with Maximillion Imports. I dont want a copy, I want the original carpet that came with the car. I need both the interior and the trunk carpet for a 1980 323. Any help would be appreciated.

Al Canuck, does a set.
He owns his ownshop, and he is from Canada, and does an excellent job.
I am getting my black set through him, and I highly recommend him,

djminkin 08-25-2006, 06:51 PM Im looking for this exact set for my B6. I want to replace the stock carpet with a new original set.
jrcook320 08-25-2006, 07:06 PM Mobile tradition? Not sure how to order from them, but I bet it's not cheap.

I ordered from them in March! Maximillion Imports is the Mobile Tradition rep here in the states, and they are horrible to deal with, unless its a part they have in stock.
Al Canuck 08-25-2006, 07:54 PM Our sets are a multi piece, but I can do them in the original German loop.
Mobile Tradition is simply an arm of BMW. Phone your dealer.

djminkin 08-25-2006, 08:01 PM Does the dealer still offer E21 parts? Can you recreate this exact set?

Mobile Tradition IS BMW. Therefore, any Mobile Tradition part is a BMW factory part, hence, ordering it through the dealer. I've restored my entire 323i through various BMW dealers, aside from a few aftermarket bits, and Worldpac(OEM supplier). You can order every piece of trim, every clip, and every nut and bolt through BMW.
Part number on an Anthrazit carpet from 08/1978 - 09/1980 is 51471917502
If it shows up NLA, we can create a 17 piece set, similar to the old 2002 sets, but in OEM German Loop carpet, yes.

Where did you find it available?
I did a part avalibility check at the dealer I worked for.
The part was in the U.S. I just don't remember which warehouse.
I will check it again if you have no luck at your local dealer.
A reality that some of the dealers don't want to help out with the older classics, gives a bad taste.
Nice Alpina interior by the way!
