Hello from a new guy to the forums! Great resource! I just picked up a 1980 1.8 liter with the 5 speed. Bought it on craigslist as a commuter car (taking some courses at the UW) for $550. I have had a number of cars and one of my favorites was a '72 2002. Always wanted a 320i and now here it is. The car reads at 107k and needed a fuel pump and a clutch slave. I bought it on trust and hit the junk yard. Found a few and picked parts. Rebuilt the intank pump and got a clutch slave from napa. Fixed it on the side of the road and drove it home. I just had some new tires put on and ordered brake cylinders for the rear with shoes. Probably have to replace the tie rods, as the front wiggles around 45mph. Great little car and I haven't even had to buy a manual... yet.

So... just wanted to say hello and perhaps ask...

Anyone know why the heater fan would just stop working. Worked when I picked it up 3 days ago and now... well.. nada.

The shimmy at 45 is a common E21 problem. It often takes a completely rebuilt front suspension and perfectly balance tires to eliminate.

clean the contacts on the heater fuse, or give the fuse a spin and see if the blower works.

no. actually i have no idea what that is. but it sounds very interesting. im actually "structure/contracting, and starting Banking at the moment. haha
