Was picking up a part at the dealer yesterday afternoon and there were many HPD officers around the Mini area. Apparently (per parts guys) a woman's Mini was incorrectly released to her ex-BF or ex-husband, etc. I figure it must be an ex-husband, etc., as maybe last name was still the same. Yikes!

Not sure if the SAs can really be held accountable. It's not like people tell their dealership they got divorced and not to let their ex pick up the car.

Aren't they only allowed to give the vehicle to the owner unless the owner specifies?
I mean... I'd probably crazy if my mom or dad or brother picked up my car.

yes, the owner of the car should be the only person that needs to pick up the car. its the only way to cover their butts; cause its the proper way to do buisness, incase if sometin' like this were to happen. its gettin' to be common sence that stuff like this happens. I call SA bad.

what the SA should have done was called to see if it was okay to release the car. husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/bitch... should be able to pick up the car with owners consent.

Maybe they were divorced but she never took his name off the title, so therefore he could rightfully pick it up.
