Bimmerworld is apparently having some kind of sale on control arms. I think you can get two brand new control arms with ball joints intact (from mahle), hardware included, along with a pair of powerflex front control arm bushings for like 380.

hhm, well that sounds like something i might look into, i was just planning on getting just the bushings, thats the cheapest, then later on i might upgrade the whole arm

Sounds good... I got my car back on the raod Sat and Im loving it. Finally painted and put on side skirts that have been sitting around for about 2 years. It's getting me motivated to figure out my bumper situation and work on painting my car.

I *may* have to step away from this one. I have a friend coming in town on business and he's crashing at my place that night, so depending on what time he gets in... We'll see.

A couple of us will be eating BBQ this Sunday after the Bike for the Brain group ride. See the other thread in this forum about that event. I would guess around 1 pm at the BBQ place near the corner of Johnson Drive and Lamar. The place is called Bob-N-Que or some such nonsense, good eats though.

American Royal statue loses its head

Barbecuelooza, the statue of a giant bull that serves as the American Royal Barbecue mascot, has lost its head.

It happened Monday outside the Northland home of Susan Fox, American Royal sponsorship manager. Fox said vandals cut the head off the 12-foot fiberglass and wood statue and took it. Barbecuelooza was on a trailer in front of her house.

American Royal officials have found a company to replace the head in time for today’s American Royal parade.

It still won't start, and he said he thought the rings were 'washed out' leading to low compression (the car ran like a champ right until this happened) so he's going to fog some oil into each cyl. and try the DME off another car. If that works, they'll try to find a used DME for me. In the mean time, I'm posting to the wanted section (oooh and maybe FI since some guys may have gone to stand alone or Tec 3s...)

In for 5 hours of labor so far, I'll be very happy if I get out of this for under $2k. :(

Update: I'm shopping around for a 413 DME

Chris called back and said that with a DME from a 325 they got it running just fine. They put mine back in and the injectors locked open and tried to flood it again. :( Put the 325 back in and it ran fine again, so I've sent out some e-mails to people selling 413s on the board.

Man that was some good BBQ. My ribs were outstanding. I'm still full this morning. I would rate them as good as that fireman's place that closed over in Missouri, Backdraft, if I remember.

As was mentioned originally by Brady I think, I'd say it was some excellent 'generic' BBQ.

Nothing fancy, but solid meats! I'll have to try those ribs sometime.

Those ribs were well worth the $25 it cost me to drive up there. :rofl2

I have a Covercraft cover in stock that would work for this purpose, about $30. It is not reccommended for extended protection, the good one is about $100 and I have it also.

What's the good one like?

Since I have no garage and NO overhead cover of any kind, I'd like to be able to put one over it when parked here expressly for the purpose of being able to keep ice and snow off the car itself. So, I guess the cover has to be water resistant.

Scraping all the time makes me cringe. Not like I'm worried about the paint, but the overall effects of the ice/snow over time. I want to preserve what I can until I have an actual garage and replace all the plastic and trim, etc...

Yeah, he has a real nice shop with a dual post full size lift. Doing an oil change and other things was much easier with the car six feet in the air. Some BBQ is more than fair barter.

Saturday night the Patriots will try and finish the season undefeated. The game is to be telecast on the NFL network. I get the NFL network on my dish. Would there be any interest in bringing over some BBQ and watching the game? The game starts at 7pm. If anyone needs to work on their car the garage would also be available.
