Johnny's BBQ in Mission just off Johnson Drive on Martway. Had lunch there today with the wife, at her suggestion!!!! Very good. We shared a combo platter, it had ribs, brisket, ham and sausage.

Been there. It's not my favorite, but its good shit.

I was pleased with the quality of meat. The ribs where very meaty and tender, almost falling off the bone, not dry and chewy, like we've had at some places. The sauce was a little zippy without being overpowering. Like you said, not the best, but worth going back for. And the sides were a good quality, nice crisp fries, the baked beans were good and the cole slaw was OK.

Just to report in:

Took an outsider to OK-Joes yesterday for some Z-mannage. I told him he has to have gone there a minimum of 17 times before getting anything but the Jumbo-Z. I pulled an advanced move though and got the special: A Z-man w/ chicken instead of beef. I'm here to say it was damn good.

The Z-man sandwich has transcended itself from the status of 'sandwich' and has progressed to the esteemed level of 'sandwich-platform'.

Although mine was my own oversight. Keep me posted, Brady, on whether or not it persists. A drain can be a pain to track down, but there's a methodology and I've got a multitester.

I had to replace my battery awhile back.. it'd charge up, then drain down overnite.. it was just getting old and needed replaced.. it was draining itself down.. car doesnt have a short anywhere.

And the heat dont help them either.

And for fuck's sake. The second day on the road with the bike and I got tagged by a car on 69 S. going out to the cats because some stupid motherfokker thought the guy waving him over (both cut in front of me as the cones merged into a 1 lane construction zone) was telling him 'there's something wrong with your car.'

The guy in a rental PT Cruiser waved the guy over and all of a sudden at 70mph I see both cars that just cut in on me braking hard. I ran to the right of the Cruiser, but not too far since I was hard on the brakes and there was construction debris and dirt on the shoulder which doesn't help stopping). The guy in the pickup comes to a dead stop and the cruiser dives right, right in front of me and I tagged his right front quarter panel at about 10mph, breaking my turn indicator.

The early 50ish guy in the digital-ish cammo fatigues comes out as the guy I hit is yelling at him colorfully and says "I didn't know what you were saying, so I thought there was a problem with my truck." I kept asking him why he didn't signal and pull over to the wide shoulder and he just kept saying 'I didn't know what he was saying'.

The other guy and I just made sure we were alright while the other guy took off. He kept offering me the little money he had, but for a $19 part; when it wasn't even his fault, I just thanked him for his concern and we took off.

But I got my laundry done tonight. Good times.

We do need to have more tech sessions. I'm getting ready to do some major stuff and I know Brady's got things to do.

Rather than squirrel myself away for a weekend, I'll open it up so people can lend a hand or just cheer if they want and let people ask questions and learn along the way. That's the real spirit of the tech fest.

Its a Conoco or Quik Trip off of Lackman and 435 I think. Pretty much the last exit before 435 splits off to K-10.

I have to get one of two cylinder head's I have ready to go back on the car again. Parts are ordered for both and going to ship today. I may have the valve seals overnighted if the machine shop thinks they can get it done by friday.

Finally found a rear diff from Diffs Online. About a grand shipped for a 3.38ls from a 99M3 with only 68k/mi. Can't wait to get back in the M and see how it feels with a good diff again.

We will meet at the gas station at 103rd and Lackman in Lenexa at 6:30. Then we will caravan to Lawrence on K10. You just take K-10 into Lawrence and then turn right on Massachusetts and go north until you smell the BBQ. To make things confusing, Vermont Street BBQ is on Masschusetts Street.

Yes, we are going to eat at Vermont Street BBQ in Lawrence, which is on Massuchettes Street. If you want to caravan over with some of us meet at the gas station at the corner of 103rd and Lackman in Lenexa. It is just off the I-435 and K-10 junction.

Looks like a clear if slightly cool night, so I'm good for the grub!

Instead of joining you, my dogs decided to visit with a skunk behind our house, and I spent the evening trying (without success) to remove the wonderful odor he imparted on their fur. They got left outside overnight, and they'll be re-bathed this morning. Ugh.

Any tips on removing skunk stink?

Sorry you had problems. If you would have asked earlier in the day any of us would have given you a cell phone number as a contact.

We meet at a different place everytime, so it possible we might select a Missouri location next time. We have eaten in Missouri several times. There are a couple of Lawrence guys that trek out to KC many times and we like to return the favor occassionally by going to Lawrence, plus the co-eds.

Welp.... I killed a foglight and a PS2 today on my way to lunch. Hit a semi tread on 435 close to Antioch. So... I am trying to track down Jim from the TireRack to order a new one. In the mean time, I NEED a favor. I went to put my spare on... forgetting about my Wilwood brakes up front.

I need a spacer. 5 or 10mm would be great, I just need it for a few days until my new PS2 gets here from tirerack. If its a 10mm, the longer lugbolts would be appreciated as well! I already have a 5mm on there, so I don't think I need much more to clear my factory Contour.

Kudo's to Jim by the way for his fast turn around on my message. My tire is shipping today!
