And comes the question, all mah chillun's:

Where's our meet up this Wed for the trip to Lawrence and at what time?

Here's (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=15&ll=38.947862,-94.773817&spn=0.030139,0.058494&om=1) where we're peeling off to Hwy 10. What open parking lots are in the vicinity?

DeanP
11-09-2006, 11:10 PM
There is Quik Trip and Wendys in a stripmall at 95th and Lackman just a couple blocks from my house. We could then roll down 95th to Renner and go south to enter K10.

Theodore
11-09-2006, 11:21 PM
There's also that QT thats RIGHT by the entrance ramp on Lackman. Or, if we wanted to shift it a bit up 435, there's a McDonalds(can it Rob:D) just East of the highway on 87th. They have a good sized lot for us...

do you guys want to try to park all together somewhere or just meet out front of Vermont street BBQ on Mass?

DeanP

I'd say park on our own and meet at the resturant. I think parking will be at a premium and it will be hard to find a place for everyone.

RagnarDanskjold
11-14-2006, 12:31 PM
Isn't it pretty close to the Outlet Mall? Any chance there would be parking there?

We'll caravan down to Mass. St. and once we know where the place is, we can split off to look for parking. I'm sure we'll have a short walk, but it should be nice out.

Summit Pit BBQ @ just off 50 hwy in lee's summit.

Vermont street BBQ, @ downtown Lawrence? parking might be an issue.

Blaine's Abattoir - BBQ 'n Torque Wenches

We'll caravan down to Mass. St. and once we know where the place is, we can split off to look for parking. I'm sure we'll have a short walk, but it should be nice out.

The only outlet mall in Lawrence is the OLD tanger and its right off of I70. I would imagine parking will be a pain, but not THAT bad as most game people will park on campus or south of it. Downtown is East of KU. There are lots on the streets that are east and west of Mass, thats where I think we'll have our best luck.

So... caravan down, and then park on your own. Rally at VT. St. and gorge. I will hopefully be all better by then. I was sick as a dog yesterday and already feel a LOT better today. L-Town and BBQ... it gets none better. :

Tonight is $4 domestic pitchers and $0.25 smoked wings. The guy said they might be super-crowded, or they might be slow because of the game (It's the first Wednesday game since they introduced the popular wings special).

Argh! Will someone please inform my wife that when the car makes strange, rhythmic bumping noises from the rear right, don't keep driving it for another ten miles?

The back tire was completely shredded by the time she got home last night. Baron has a replacement tire coming in sometime today, but I think the flat puts a snafu in my plans to join you folks.

I hope everyone has fun. I'll definitely mark the January date on my calendar.

I would really love to hear the other guy's version of the story?????? And I hope it was a guy!!!!

Other guys version:

I knew his stand up was bad so thats where I wanted to stay. He kept trying to take me down, but I kept escaping, then he shot in hard, I got him with my knee and he just held onto my leg for a second, so I got some rib shots in. Then we scrambled a bit, I ended up on top, but he knocked my arm out and got me in a choke. I had to tap.

This is a fun gym! :biglaughb

Honestly, this is exactly how it happened.

coleco

i will take one for the team and explain how to do it.

i ordered the ones off ebay from malaysia that are made of real rubber bmw uses a synthetic rubber and you cant just buy the gaskets. you gotta buy the plastic cover and gasket together. they were fairly inexpensive but i had got the new ones for less. the ones from the guy in malaysia came within a week and im patient enough to wait. but after i broke the handles i spent double the money cause i had to buy new ones. XD

this task is easy if you know what you are doing which i didnt.

1. on the inside of your door there is a plastic plug thingy about the height of the handle on the door its a rounded rectangle shaped one.
you pop that oval plug out

2. use a flashlight and look in there there is a sliding mechanism that holds the top of the cover in place.

3. use a screwdriver and push that sliding brassy looking thingy towards the front of the car. that will unlock the top of the cover.

4. make sure the gaskets are fit nicely on the cover and reverse the uninstall to install new ones.

5. you will need some sort of 90degree bent screwdriver or makeshift tool to pull that sliding mechanism back to lock the cover back on. i just bent a screwdriver and used that. (hated that screwdriver anyways)

my big mistake was trying to pry them off from the outside of the door. i didnt realize till after i broke my plastic covers there was a nifty sliding thing within easy access from behind the plug just on the inside of the door .
you win some you lose some i guess.

i was very pissed until i found out how easy it is hahahhahaha.

I've broke many many parts before figureing out how they were suppose to come apart. Thanks.. I've heard thats how they came off, but when I looked in there I didn't see anything which is why I stuck them somewhere until I could figure it out.

I would like to announce a special March BBQ offering. I (we, my wife and I) bought a house yesterday. It is in the same neighborhood we live in now, only about 3 blocks away. We are scheduled to close March 2. On a weekend, to be determined in March) we will move over there and I could use some help. We will probably shoot for later in March so that KU will already be out of the tournement and there won't be scheduling conflicts. For those that help we will offer Zarda's BBQ. We'll go pick-up mutiple pounds of sauce dripping meat and have that available to all comers. And Arctus, if you want to come I will drive over and lead you back to the hinterlands of Lenexa and the mysteries of 95th street. There will also be some kind of a bonus (Boulevarde maybe) to anyone that brings a pick-up. I will keep you posted.

i gots some random junk laying around the house.
some of this junk is heavy so i dont want to ship it anywhere just hoping maybe someone needs it and is willing to swing by and pick it up.

1. e36 325 front rotors (i swapped to 325 calipers but i got stoptech rotors so i have these left over)

2. set of 4 15" bottlecap rims with blizzak and arctic alpine snow tires (some expected curb rash from winters)

3. 1997 bmw 318ti HFM ( i swapped to 95 M3 hfm so no longer need)

4. set of 4 16" M5 knockoff rims with 3 season tires that need refinishing due to the fact i drifted one into a curb. cost about 500$ to repair the one and recolor all of them at wheel and hubcap store.

5. 1997 bmw M44 stock 2 piece intake manifold. does not include the flappy valve thingy in there.

6. black leather e36 ebrake boot

7. black plastic stock e36 ebrake handle.

8. black 318ti center console shifter surround plastic console for manual transmission - its the part with the window switch holes and door lock switch holes..

9. black leather z3/318ti shifter boot.

10. 318ti rear bumper mouldings 3 pieces

11. grey synthetic leather e36 ebrake boot.

12. 2 1997 bmw text print grey cloth seats non-sport version.

13. i believe i still have a 1997 318ti stock open differential somewhere at barrett and brents storage facility. ( took off my car to swap in lsd 3:45 diff)

idk i was bored and looking at this pile of shit in my house thinking damn i should get rid of this stuff. god damn snow!!!

I haven't, but meat would be a good thing. I saw a smaller bbq place that is close to the Outback thats off of Metcalf between Shawnee Mission Pkwy and Johnson Dr.

I tried Famous Dave's a couple years ago.. bad service back then but things could've changed quite a bit since then.

I do recall merrily gorging myself to the point of exhaustion on meat and fried stuff. And then I probably washed it down with diet cola.
