I have a fascination for the mini do it all wagon market segment. my dad had one of the first dodge colt wagons (mfr by mitsubishi back then) and that thing could fit 7! (not comfortably but it had all the seating positions). the seats all folded down like origami or could be removed, it had a roof rack, small size easy to park anywhere, got good gas mileage. "the colt" lol, we loved it.

so the m coupe close but not really. lacks the 2 extra doors and carrying space as is a sports coupe anyways. there's a pretty good mfr. war going on right now with the mazda 3, dodge caliber, pontiac vibe etc. Chrysler DCX for one cannot even keep up with customer orders (just added a third shift) so I'm wondering why BMW is so cautious? the 130i is being sold in Mexico of all places ahead of the US. the latest Roundel projected a $28k price tag, a fair enough chunk of change for a 265hp compact haulingasser wagon. the Dodge SRT-4 Caliber is supposed to have 300hp for 21-23k. I can't wait to see which I get to trade in for :)

it looks a little surprised to me.

It's got the same eyes as Johnny Five.

I'd take the 130 as American cars have crummy interiors with lots of plastic.

true but there's something to be said about the utility of vacuum off and wipe clean plastic for a beach/utility mobile too.

Ahh crappola, I see idrive. Interesting to see if it will actually come with an ///M package. I think it's a great little car; but, with the 2 series coming as well, I wonder if BMW is over-stretching themselves similar to what MB did with the C-class. Quality certainly declined and BMW is not the greatest in terms of quality. Plus, $28K, seems pretty high IMO ... was that the 'out' the door price with options? Options could add another $3-4K easily. At that price, the Mazda 3 appears a much better bargain.

don't forget the 135ti thats coming out, with the same twin turbo engine as the 335i. :devillook

It's like an M series, but they won't call it the M1, because the M1 was a mid-engine supercar.....
