320ipyro 08-21-2006, 10:30 PM after workin my butt off for the last year and a half, i finally get to do the 2 things ive been wanting to do, get my permit, and be able to bring my car to my house so i can actually get some work done on it! i start drivers ed on september 5th, and my car is being towed (for free because my dad owns 4 tow trucks) to my house sometime next week... probably monday morning. i cant wait!

BoomerDJ 08-22-2006, 12:37 PM oh wow. i thought i was like the only one haha guess not well im happy to see other kids interested in cars. at my school there is like no one who even knows what a piston is. its real frustrating
virafp 08-22-2006, 02:28 PM My son is 16 years old, and he mainly drives the BMW. We stripped the car to be re-sprayed two weeks ago, and it was the first time he had really worked on a car outside of tire rotation etc. He totally got into it! The car comes back from paint today, and he can't wait to get it put back together.
At his HS, there is a group of kids (outside of the ricers) who are into retro cars...I am just glad he is now interested in the weekend do it yourself type of stuff.
Soon, he will be on this board as well.

Viraf,
That's cool man. My son's eight so it'll be some time until he gets to where your son is. He's helping me wetsand though, and clean parts here and there. Funny thing is, it's my daughter who hangs out with me when I'm working on the car just because. She might be the one who'll dig working on cars.

320ipyro 08-22-2006, 11:09 PM there arnt many ricers at my school, but there are TONS of hick trucks (cause it is a giant school and everyone from about 40 miles out into the country goes there on top of all the big neighborhoods around it). there used to be a group of like 8 guys that drove classic restored muscle cars, but they all graduated last year... leaving the hick trucks... i love big ol' trucks, but i dont have the money for one. ive decided not to park next to my friends, cause a few of them could run over the bimmer with out even noticing it.
