View Full Version : Just got my Z4 M Coupe
microban 08-21-2006, 04:30 PM Hey guys. I'm new to the forum but I did look around while I was shopping for the Z4 M Coupe.
I have now finally got it over the weekend.
Black on Black with Nav and Premium Package. I managed to get $2,500 off MSRP at Shelley BWM.
Just wanted to say hi and I am happy to be part of the club.

Now I must NOT see you on the road until I take delivery of mine from Irvine BMW some time next week.
Where in Irvine are you and what's the last 3 numbers of your VIN?

bcubed 08-21-2006, 08:37 PM Congrats! I took deliver of mine last Friday. Black on black with everything except the nav. I could only get a grand off ther sticker. How'd you manage $2500?

Shelley has had that black coupe for about a month now. If I have to guess his VIN is in the low 200s.
My car got release to the port of exit (Spartanburg) yesterday. Should be on a train in the next day or two.

Seems all the early VIN's are Black. There also has been one sitting on the showroom up at Beverly Hills BMW for about a month. Doesn't seem like demand is that strong... which in a sly way I'm very happy about. The fewer on the road the better!

microban 08-22-2006, 03:05 AM My last 3 digits of the VIN is 045. I live near the Jamboree exit by the 5 freeway. Where in Irvine are you Ian? I got $2,500 off the MSRP because I had gone to Crevier to look at their M Coupe before and I think Dino offered $2,000 off. I went to Shelley and I told them I got an offer for $2,500 off and asked them to match the deal. I guess they had it sitting in the showroom for a long time. It had spiderwebbing all over the car so they are going to do a full detail for me. I couldn't understand why a showroom car had about 50 miles on the odometer.

microban 09-14-2006, 07:21 PM I'll post some pics over the weekend. Hey Ian or Hack, how are your M Coupes doing?
The HACK 09-14-2006, 07:35 PM I'll post some pics over the weekend. Hey Ian or Hack, how are your M Coupes doing?
Mine just got released from the VPC to the carrier that transports it from the VPC to the dealership. Should be here this weekend.
microban 09-14-2006, 07:44 PM Thats good news!! I know you've been waiting for that car for a long time now. We shold meet up sometimes with Ian and compare cars. It's one thing to see an M Coupe on the road but three M Coupes would be a riot.

I'm doing some track prep work on the car at the end of the month at B&M Racing (September 30th) where I'll have access to lifts, we're also going to do a comparison between the MZ4 and the E46 M3 at the shop.
But I work down in AV so anytime y'all want to get together for lunch near the Spectrum I'm sure I can take a hour or two off to meet up.
edit/p.s.: Last week I kept seeing this Interlagos Blue MZ4 coupe when I go out to lunch with Irvine plates.

I work 5 min by the Spectrum. Let me know when you get your car. Also, if I'm not out of the country on the 30th, do you mind me joining and just googling around at what you guys are doing?

Hah! I think I saw you at the Aliso Viejo towncenter last week on Wednesday, and again this Tuesday at Naulu's. :D
The MZ4 won't be rigged for racing but it'll see significant track days.

Hey beamurr, you got yours at Shelley too? Custom order I suppose? Who did you buy it from and how much did you get it for? We should def. meet up together when Hack gets his car on Monday!
beamurrr 09-15-2006, 03:09 PM yea we should definitely meet. there was a bit of drama pickin up my car, i think maybe one of you (someone else in OC with interlagus blue that is) actually ended up getting my original shipment (long story i can explain later) due to some seedy sales manager action, but no worries, i got mine at the end, a week later. definitely we should meetup if we can. where's that B&M racing around here, is that where you guys might meetup:?
PS hack i think the AV is the other interlagos, don't know whose it is but if they got it at irvine, that was the one i ordered and ended up being whisked from me and sold by 5K or something like that above MSRP (i would never settle for such deal).

oh got it from the best salesman in OC, really ammazing guy, very honest and straight forward. i didn't know him til this deal. his name is Marcelo, he's cool as mint, none of that pushy BS tactics of some of the other guys. i would really recommend him to anyone here and if you guys see him tell him baabak says Que Pasa!
The HACK 09-15-2006, 04:13 PM B&M Racing is actually up in San Fernando Valley...

Would be nice for us MZCoupers to meet up too.
beamurrr 09-15-2006, 05:15 PM oh i was hoping they had a local office near us, yea i know about their chattsworth HQ, but that's a helluva drive unless you go on sun morning or something.
and if u dont mind please do share your race-course mods to-be for the m coupe.

Just tires and brake pads. Probably a set of Toyo RA-1 (245/40/18) fitted on something like, maybe O.Z. Ultraleggeras, and probably a set of Cobalt Blue Spec VR race compounds for the brakes.
That's it. For the October 7-8th event I'll probably just run completely stock just to see what the car can do first.

Are you planning on getting 1200 miles on the car by 10/7 or are you gonna' ignore the break-in requirements?

if you dont mind me asking what's your opinion of the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (or even the Pilot Sport Cup) tires?

Oh I'm putting on 1,200 miles before 7th. I have a 130 mile a day commute to work.
Roland 09-15-2006, 06:27 PM Oh I'm putting on 1,200 miles before 7th. I have a 130 mile a day commute to work.
Wow!!! I thought mine was a long commute at 14 miles roundtrip! (used to be 8 miles *sigh*). On the other hand -I must admit, when I drive my Coupe to work, I want more seat time than is needed to make the trip ;-). I'm hoping to have mine broken in within a month by driving alot in the evenings and weekends. I'm at 240 miles so far (I have had the car 7 days now)...
The HACK 09-15-2006, 06:28 PM if you dont mind me asking what's your opinion of the Mich*elin Pilot Sport PS2 tires? better than stock or about the same?
I've actually never had PS2s on any of my cars before, I had PS1s on my Z3 1.9L a few years ago and was very impressed with it, but back then I wouldn't know the difference between an apex and a hole in the ground (not that I do now), and didn't know squat about tire pressure and all the stuff I've gleamed from this site.
A few friends who has run PS2s has been very impressed with grip level and longevity of the tires. Frankly at this point the Conti's, starting next year, will be strictly for street use and for the track I have dedicated R-comps, so I don't really care that the Conti's are bad. When they wear out I'd either replace them with a set of Yokohama Advan Neova AD07s or Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s (why can't these tire companies make something that's easy to remember?), or see if my buddy at Bridgestone can come through with another set of RE050A Pole Positions.
microban 09-16-2006, 05:07 PM Speaking of a meeting place, we can meet at Dynamic Autosports at Lake Forest. The owner is a family friend and he could probably give good deals on the dyno runs. Unless you already have a hookup for that hack?

Me too. There's a lot of us Z people in the Irvine Area.
The HACK 09-16-2006, 07:38 PM ...(long story i can explain later)
Can you elaborate now?
I'm trying to find my car, it's suppose to have left port hueneme on Thursday, I stop by Friday afternoon on the way home and what do I see as I pull into the dealership's driveway? A brand new Interlagos Blue MZ4 coupe driving away. Can't possibly be another coupe in Interlagos they're getting on the same day?
Third day after it's left Port Hueneme and it's still not ag the dealership?

They can't give your car to someone else can they? It is yours by VIN# - isn't it? What does your salesman have to say today?

From what I understand, my $500 deposit only reserves the right to buy the car when it arrives, it does not GUARANTEE the right. Someone could easily have walked into the dealership on Friday, offered $x,xxx over what I agreed to pay, and leave with the MZ4 Coupe without me knowing it.
What dealership is going to turn down more profit? A brand new Interlagos Blue MZ4 Coupe leaving the dealership the day my car is suppose to show up? What are the chances?

Have someone run a DCS report and see if it was punched.

I think they would call up and tell you to see if you offer above it. In any case, they'd need to give you your deposit back, right? They'd have to call you sooner or later. I like Irvine BMW, we've purchased 5 cars from them, I would hope that they wouldn't take that litle bit of profit in exchange of loosing a customer for life.
But have you called them to see what is up?

While such behavior may not be illegal, it certainly would be unethical and I'd think BMW corporate would have issues with it if it happened... Keep us posted on this and good luck!!!
microban 09-18-2006, 01:00 AM Man Hack, you been through so much to get the car. I hope you can find out where it is and be able to get it on Monday. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
