hey guys,

stopped into msr on friday to get a few things looked at and to get my oil changed. there, i met gregg and kevin (has a black e34 535i). real nice guys.

thanks a lot for letting me hang out for the day bill. just to let you know, i should have those parts together early this week. i was hoping to drop my car off on either wednesday or thursday night. don't worry, i've been keeping the rev's below 3750rpms and driving like my grandmother. :D (coupe needs a new guibo ... fast).

again, just wanted to thank bill for such a great time. if anyone is in the area, i would highly sugguest going down for an hour or two. great guy to work with and he can teach you a lot! i learned quite a bit about my coupe.

thanks again bill!

Do I need to make an appointment before going in? I have this annoying ticking noise from under my valve cover and I want to get rid of it. Maybe the chain tensioner? Anyways I want to bring this in ASAP. I sent an email but no response =\

Sorry man, was just going through the mails.

I'm jammed up this week but if you drop it off I ought to be able to fit it in. On this there's just no way I can diagnose withotu seeing the car. It's anything from somethign silly to needing an engine.. it's just guesswork unless I see the car.

Wish I could be more precise but I need to see it Im afraid.

Gimme a shout in the AM.. 732-791-2331

what is that?

Same as the flex disk I believe, belongs under the car... maybe transmission area :help

As you can see I am little help!

Gregg
08-23-2006, 12:08 PM
It is a rubber disk with metal sleeves that connects the driveshaft to the tranny. Helps with vibration and lash. It's a very common replacement part on Bimmers. For some reason E30 eat them like popcorn.

P.S. if you decide to demod your car let me know. It would probably make the car easier to sell and you would get a bit more money back. I am interested in some parts and could help you with that ;)

I looked at the avus with euro motor and tranny but it made too much rattle and squeeks. The car is still a consideration but I think I will look around some more. As for my car, I dont think I will be parting it, it might go to my brother if he behaves.

Hows your swap going aong?

+1 .. . MSR is awesome, I spent a day at the shop when I first got my E36 M3/4 and Bill told me everything about my car that I could ever want to know. Props to MSR, I gotta head down there and get some work done on the M before winter.
