happened a couple nights ago, was just lazy to post. :stickoutt

i was going down brookhurst in fountain valley (for all you OC heads) going towards the 405 freeway and this 240sx comes next to me. i don't pay much attention to it because fountain valley cops are always around. i guess he realized i didn't want to play so he speeds off and i get stuck at a light. i hop on the 405 S freeway and next thing you know i see the 240 up ahead and catch up to it. as soon as i start to slow down next to his rear bumper i hear him go WOT and as soon as i realized that i downshift to 4th and immediately pull next to him and pass with ease. i slow down for him to catch up and he finally does. now i'm going 70, i drop to 4th (conservative ) and i hear him go WOT again and i do the same. i pass with ease and keep going til about 120ish and i shut down. i don't know how many cars i put on the guy but i didn't even get a chance to give the thumbs up as he stayed back the whole time after. :dunno

i don't know what mods he had, but definately not a SR20 under the hood. all i saw was an exhaust, wheels, and suspension work.

my only 'performance' mod : magnaflow exhaust :redspot

Yeah i pull easy on stock 240s so it should be a joke for a e46 m3.

I was under the impression that there were no stock 240s left in America.

yea i've ran into some sr20 240's, but none wanted to play. i don't race much nor do i look for any. plus, these so*cal freeways are always on the go so no room to play. but yeah, there's still KA 240sx around with bolt ons. it's not in my league, but sometimes you take what you can.

He's probably trying to sell it to buy a Civic, but he can't get the 5 grand he wants for it, which he's only asking for because 2F2F told him to.

I'd like to get an S14 and in an SR20 but that'll never happen, if I had the money to do that I'd just buy a damn M3.

there were some stickers on the window, but didn't pay attention to it. i notice a sticker on the back bumper right above his exhaust, but couldn't make anything out of it.

It was probably an Options2 sticker - it was a big Honda fad a few years ago to put one at a ~45 deg angle over your exhaust.

Good kill. A stock swapped SR20 S13 is more E36 M3 territory, but it's not hard to make them E46 M3 fast.

I ran a little with a guy that had a pretty modded E46 M3(judging by the bling-bling wheels and BBK), and was a hair faster than him up to about 70mph, but was spinning most the time. The car does about 3.9-4.1 0-60mph if it hooks up according to datalogs. I have a pretty small turbo, stock engine otherwise.

Hmm, I know of more than a few SR20 swaps that will absolutely blow the doors off E46 M's be careful those full drift prepped cars are no joke.

Of course you can usually tell, and you don't see em' that often.

4.0 in an S13 is nothing to laugh at, that's sweet.

On most surfaces it's probably in the mid 4's though, as 1st is really hard to hook up at WOT. 2nd goes to about 70-75mph, so it does tend to hook up through most of that.

It doesn't even seem fast to me anymore though, so I'm currently in the process of adding a bit more power to it.

No, just hard to find one in florida.

When I lived in virginia there were alot of stock ones. I moved down to orlando for 6 weeks then cocoa beach 2 years ago. To many 240's. Alot of ricers too.

Tell me about it, for every nice TT Supra Mk4 or STI/EVO, there's a Cavalier or 2G DSM (not a GSX/TSi AWD) with an unpainted body kit, a spoiler STRAIGHT from NFS Most Wanted and a fartcan.

Truth be told I've only ever seen like 4 S14s around here. Three of em were all riced out and beat up, but I saw one about a month back, BEAUTIFUL and looked almost brand new, wasn't riced out, paint was perfect, it was on par with seeing this orange SRT-10 about a week back.

But seriously, 4.0 0-60 in a 240 EVER is nothing to joke about, I didn't know it was possible to make those things so fast without making INSANE changes (widebody, 100% stripped, etc)

It's pretty easy to make them run mid 11's at about 117-119 mph on the stock engine with just cams. I run 275/40-17's in the stock rear wheel wells, so there's plenty of tire. My turbo tops out at about 300rwhp, which limits me. Going to upgrade sometime in the future.

if it was a modded sr20det motor swap in a s13 coupe or hatch 240sx then you're asking for trouble unless your e46 or e36 m3 is modded...Now if its a bone stock rb25 or rb26 with just boost controller, chip, larger wastegate, and RSR exhaust then they can rip pretty much any bone stock e36 or e46 m3 all day.

Def

Because the chip and RSR exhaust are what make them like super fast y0!

PS - they don't use "chips" and RSR exhausts for RB swaps in a 240 are probably exceedingly rare...

Wait so are you running on the stock KA24DE or did you do an SR20DET, CA18DET or RB26/25 swap?

RPS13 = chassis code for a S13 hatch with an SR20DET in it.

Mine is a stock longblock(cams, bottom end etc.) with a slightly larger turbo on it than the stock T25. Weighs around 2500 lbs or so now.

Is there even a non-hatch S13? I figured RPS13 was just the full chassis code.
