I just picked up a B&B Triflow with DTM tips for an insane price. Anyway the exhaust fits perfect on a 99 m3 (see pic #'s 1,2). But when I installed the exhaust on my 96 328i (see pic #'s 3,4) it doenst look as clean. I was wondering if I should:
a) buy new shorter DTM tips and have them welded on.
b) have this exisisting tips cut and then re-welding on.

And lastly where can I get this work done? I tried some local shops and they said it "can't" be done. I just think there too lazy.

Thanks in advance

Sebastian

This reminds me of my car. I have the same problem. I decided not to cut the tips because if you ever decide to sell the exhaust it will basically be worth nothing to somebody. After awhile you will get used to it and it really doesnt look terrible from far away. Try to trade with somebody or re-sell for a different exhaust.

The exhuast will only become worthless to m3's. I can still sell the exhuast to 325's and 328's. Im really only losing one market. I can live with that. Im going to order a diffuser and see how it looks. If I still dont like it, I think Im going to cut and reweld.

Thanks for the input guys.
Ill keep you updated.

If you want, before you go and change anything with the exhaust that may keep you from selling it later on, try getting an M3 rear bumper. Ive seen this alot with stock bumpered E36's, esp. with the DTM tips. I know my exhaust wouldn't look too good without that rear diffuser. It may sound stupid, but the M3 rears really fill up the back.

Rear diffuser that goes on a stock bumpered E36 or M3 Rear Bumper with difusser, en-route?
