I live in Hampshire, IL (near Marengo) and drive to Chicago every day. Except tomorrow, I took the day off to install a UUC lightweight flywheel, new clutch and Rogue SSK in my 95 M3 ;).

Sounds like a fun day Jamie! I recall seeing a post (not sure which list) of yours a cpl months back regarding a Porsche organized dyno day in Milwaukee which you were going to attend.
How did things go? I was actually thinking of swinging by, because I was in Milwaukee that morning to see a friend in the hospital, but it didn't wok out.

I wish I new about your installs tomorrow, 'cause I would of taken a day off of work to give you a hand. Another time perhaps.

Jamie:

Let me know your impressions of the Rogue SSK. I have one on the way as a Christmas present. How did the install go. I am probably going ot to with new clutch/ Rogue lightweight flywheel sometime in 2003.

I live in Glencoe, unfortunately the town is overrun with Bimmers (all for the wrong reason). People buy them as sort of a status symbol, and no one really respects their cars accept for me of course.

Example, last year I took the roadster to the dealer for the 1200 mile service. I sat their in the waiting room staring at my car the whole time he worked (I don't trust dealers). It was a rainy day, and a woman decided that was the day the dealer was going to show her how to install her wind blocker on her 330 (automatic) convertible. She puts the SOAKING wet top down into the storage compartment so that they can install the windscreen.

This is what I have to deal with.:(

But hey, I love IL>

The Dyno day went well apparently. I had an ear infection so didn't go but I understand there were about 8 Porsches and 2 BMWs.

Well, today I got the flywheel on and now just have to put everything else back together tomorrow. Clutch goes on about 8:00am and everything else should follow -- hopefully.

Well out of the box it seems like a very thoughtfully engineered and precisely manufactured linkage. I have the UUC Evo II SSK on my 330i, the Rogue seems every bit as well made but I think that the weighted selector rod is going to be a very nice addition when compared to the UUC. To my mind the UUC seems to be too light and as a result tends to be notchy specially when it's cold. The weighted selector rod looks like it will solve this problem and smooth out the shifting.

I'll let you know when it's on and I've driven with it for a while.

Yup. I've lived in Mundelein (Midlothian/Winchester) for the past 8 yrs, and have worked about 20 min. west at Abbott Laboratories for the past 12 yrs, so I've seen my share of Bimmers in the area.

I run 19's in the summer, and 14"s in the winter

I have the stock size 195/65/14's on the 325, but the car is also lowered with an H&R cup kit (wayylowww)

the M3 has 30and 35 series tires on the 19's, and that car is also lowered with Bilstein PSS9 kit.

Netier car has ANY gap!

Make s the NSX look like a 4WD, its all stock.

Hey guys, go to bmwexperience.com for chicago land information. there is a chicago region forum and most the chicagoland bmw guys hang out there for meet information. We have meets every week and sometimes more than one meet. We have track days, mods days. everything, check it out.

SilverE30

I'm from Chicago but as Dinan3XI I tend to frequent BMWX more then the regional forum here. No offense, it's just there's more Chicago-based people there. I'll drop by every once in a while now. It seems to have gotten better.

Hey, I'm from Mundelein too. I live right by Carmel High School. :) There IS a lot of BMWs in this area. It's weird that I never browsed this forum before until now because I'm trying to sell some wheels. I didn't know that there is a BMW meet around here. Where is it at again? I just bought an RX-7 so I hang out in the RX7 forum a lot and go to the RX-7 meets.
