View Full Version : Wine Run anyone?
STL Avus M3 08-18-2006, 12:55 PM Just curious if any one is interested in hitting up the wineries in Agusta some time in late September/October.
The wineries are right done 94 going south of 40. The drive is maybe like 20-30 miles all in the twisties. Depending on traffic, it can be quite a fun little ride.
Price is a little bit higher when you drink the wine there, but if we go to a couple of different ones and just split the bottle up, it wouldnt be too bad. That would also limit our consumption. We could bring food/snacks as well since the food is really expensive for what you get.
As far as meeting places, we have a few options. In the past we would meet at the big ice skating place in the valley or we could meet at one of the commuter lots right off of 40. Ill probably just meet you guys at 94 since I live off of K.
So if anyone is interested, let me know. I know at least Brent and I will be going. Hopefully John will go if he is in town and not being a homo.

STL Avus M3 08-18-2006, 05:27 PM It doesnt matter to me. Im going to a concert one weekend in oct but other than that Im free.
Its up to the group. Ill do some research next week to see if any of the wineries have any special events.
jay8s 08-18-2006, 05:52 PM The mini club is going tomorrow. Aparently they have a deal with Balducci where they get to pack their cars on the hillside, and get 1/2 off their first bottle. I might go stop in and see them, I am going to be out in that direction tomorrow.
On toipc, I am down for a run.
John
STL Avus M3 08-21-2006, 12:41 PM Half off their first bottle? What a deal.

.
Tim -
I will go as long as I'm free. Things are a little goofy during the school year, but as long as I know the date a couple weeks in advance you can count me in.
arjog 08-21-2006, 08:45 PM Might be interested. Again, depending on the date...
STL Avus M3 08-22-2006, 11:10 AM Hmm.
Should we just pick a date and see if everyone can go.
John, when are your midterms and whatnot? Lets try to schedule around that first and work from there.
Lets shoot for a sat as well.
Today Ill see if those wineries have any special events.
STL Avus M3 08-22-2006, 11:39 AM Here is a map of Augusta. (Hopefully it works)

Here is a list of all the places in the area.

Ive been to Mount Pleasant and Balducci. MP has a better view of the river valley and is more shaddy, while I think Balducci has less people. Both have lots of hot, drunk milfs running around which is a selling point for most of us. It looks like they all have live bands so entertainment is there.
I wouldnt mind hitting up the Augusta Brewery as well since Im more of beer guy than a wine guy.
An idea I was thinking of is maybe hitting up Balducci and maybe one other place and just having a bottle between everyone at each place and then driving down to Washington and having lunch. Its a cool little town and there are some cool places to take pics. After that we could hit a place or two going back down 94 and then just relaxing at Mount Pleasant and enjoying the view.
The idea here is to just have a sample at each place to avoid anyone getting retarded (Been there, done that, dont want to do it again). After Mount Pleasant, those who want to head home can and if people still want to hang out, we can go to the biker bar in Defiance.
How does this sound?
calypso 08-22-2006, 09:04 PM That sounds good to me - I don't really have midterms this semester. I've never been to that balducclio place, but I would just go wherever is cheapest. You know me - I'd bring some boxed wine and wheat thins if I could get away with it.

If thats how you roll, then go ahead.
Im gonna try to take it easy this time. Well see though.
