hey... so recently two problems have developed with my 320i and i have no idea wats causing them. any help would be apreciated.

First, there is a squeaking sound comming from the left-back wheel everytime i go over a rough pot hole or hit a speed bump at an uneven angle. The bigger the hole or the bump, the louder the squeak. If its a really bumpy road, it squeaks tons of times. If i go straight on into a speed bump, there is no sound at all. I'm not sure if its the Rear shock mount because in the threads ive read, people identify a worn shock mount problem as a low pitched "clunk". also, if i push down on the car to simulate it going over a bump, it makes the squeak too. Any help on what it is and how much it would cost would be extremely helpful

Now onto my second problem. During acceleration (particularly from a stand still), there is a cracking noise comming from the central bottom of my car. the sound suddenly appears during acceleration and sounds like soemthign is spinning(sort of like a blender sound) this only appears on some acceleartions but is begining to appear more frequently. if i take my foot off the pedal, it dissapears or starts to dissapate.

Both these problems i can hear with my windows up and i thank anyone that has any suggestions. i fear they will cost me a fortune!!!! : (

The squeak could be from the shock, sway bar link or bushing, or any of the ball joints or bushings on that side of the car. To identify the source the car has to be up in the air while one person listens and another person stimulates the suspension.

Check the exhaust for leaks or loose parts, including the heat shield. Also check the guibo and driveshaft for any obvious problems.

I'm guessing the rear shock mount is worn out and very cheap to replace and you can DIY

+1 on guibo(flex disc)

thanks very much for the replies. i will check those out possibly next week! i guess it would be easy to pull back the trunk liner and check the shock mount first. any other ideas with similar experiences?

Damn BMW springs, I broke 3, I went to the junkyard with a measuring tape and came out with 2 rear 93 intrepid springs that I mounted to the front suspension, same wire size, length, diameter, but one more turn, perfect fit, stock height perfect handling, 25 $ for the pair, problem solved.
