Well... I knew it was coming so I ordered all the parts. I was expecting my new radiator here on Friday but it's delayed in shipping until Monday. And of course the old one blew on the way home tonight (125k miles, upper hose intake broke right off).

Does anyone have a new OEM radiator that they would like to trade me for the weekend (so I can get this replacement done and get to work and class on Monday)? The one I have coming is stock # 17111469179 like the ones Bavauto sell.

I thought about buying a second one and selling the other when it gets here but the dealer wants WAY too much for one and the local parts stores aren't much better.

Thanks!

I just took my old one out 2 weeks ago and it seemed perfect. You can use it for a few days if you just need to button it back up to work. I'm tied up til 10 tonight, but you're free to borrow it for a few days or buy it if you want. I'm close to 75th and Antioch BTW.

I might do that. I'll give it another day or so to see if someone has a new one. I'd rather not pull things apart twice but if that's what I have to do then I'll do it. I'd probably come get it Friday or Saturday if you would be available.

Thanks!

I think I'm going to tear everything apart this weekend and then rent a car on Monday before the radiator gets here. I don't want to drain the system twice.

Thanks for the offer! If you ever need help with anything feel free to ask.

Thanks!

Good luck with the work. Only thing that gave us(Brady and I) fits was the radiator hold down clips. Other than that it was smooth sailing for the most part.

Fan delete and new radiator are done. Went and beat the crap out of it for 20 minutes and it's staying cooler than it used to at idle (according to the crap stock gauge). I'll get the new VDO gauges put in this weekend.

I broke the radiator hold down tabs but a bunch of strong glue has temporarily fixed that. I'll need to order new ones ASAP.

Interesting that the fan delete has removed some of the gear rattle from the lightweight flywheel. Even with the AC on the rattle seems almost nonexistant.
