Encouraged by this forum and decide to DIY for my 02 BMW325CI spark plug.
After searching this forum and I found most of spark plug requires 18 feet/pound(25nm) for E46, but some post say they put 30nm. Now I am confusing how much torque spec for the spark plug?
I don't want to either overtight or loose the spark plug.
Thanks in advance!
According to the BMW TIS:
You have the M54 engine which has spark plugs with M14 x 1.5 thread. This calls for a tightening torque of 31 +/- Nm.
On the off-chance that your engine takes spark plugs with M12 x 1.25 thread, then the right torque is 23 +/- 3 Nm.

Don't forget to gap your spark plugs properly if not pre-gapped from the factory.

Thanks for remind, but I don't understand what is gap the spark plug properly? Could you please make it more clear. I bought NGK spark plug BKR6EQUP.
Hopefully, this plug has pre-gapped.

The gap is the space between that little rod which sticks up from the center white electrode and the arm which curves over it.
BTW torque is 22 lbs/ft

Thanks. But how to properly to "gap the spark plug"? Sorry to ask this question again since this is the first time I DIY and don't want to mess the whole thing up.

you fucktards. you can't really change the gap on a stock plug.
gapping is only done on single prong plugs.
