I <3 Subies in teh Twisties. Being able to power through the twisties and just grip is fun.

I also love letting the rear end hang out on the M, though ;)

Funny, I had a similiar situation only I(stock E36 M3) was up against an WRX STI at the streets of willow(track) and he couldn't hang with me through the turns but he passed me on the straight.... After that I almost got him to understeer off of the track twice in one lap!! :buttrock This was ofcourse the beginner group but it was my frist time at the track as well.

RWD > AWD!


Good kill but stock for stock he should have had some trouble passing you through the str8 specialy if you were holding more speed through the turns??

This is crap, not possible at all, unless perhaps the M3 was running on 3 cylinders.

So I went for a quick canyon run last night and some guy in a Suburu was going really slow on a one lane road, just cruising along. I tried to push him a bit but he just wouldn't pull over and let me pass. At some point he decided it was a race and gunned it around a corner. I caught him without really trying and passed him when the road opened up. I don't even know why I'm posting this, it wasn't a race.

Yes and weighs about 2800lbs depending on the model...so not really believable. 80-100more whp and about the same amount of torque on a rwd car that handles pretty damn well for stock, tells me either the OP has some serious mods or the M3 driver wasn't racing or was blind folded. Or maybe it wasn't a M3 at all :shifty

I have a 328i and walked my buddies 1998 2.5rs with chip, exhaust and intake.

There pretty slow cars.

I actually like the 2.5Rs's... decent little cars and look nice when properly done up right. But they are not that quick stock or modded. Unless they're running a STi engine swap or something, in a striaght line, they're dogs. Can be pretty good Auto-X cars though.

i used to own a 1997 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT, same motor as the RS, really almost the same car in the end.

its a 2.5RS, not the newer generation WRX. Not sure what year those are, but it's the ones that look really beat up IMO

If it was me, I would have let you get ahead in the twisties just to make you think you were doing a good job, then when it straightened out I would have jumped all over you crushing all hope.
