First I need to say hi to every one on the bimmer forum. This is MYM writing from Covina SCA. We are the Race car prep shop at SCA, We are going to race BMW Z4 at Grand American Cup next year. and we just become the TC kline offical dealer at LA area.
Infact Tc him self drove his newest machine to our shop yesterday. TC him self call it Carbon Roadster. I would like to call it The real M roadster. Basicly this is the car with TC kline in house design Custom Dry carbon Wide body parts. This is incl Front bumper cover, Hood, Fender, Side step, Door, Rear quator panel. rear bumper cover trunk lid. Dry carbon is not the typical Carbon fiber parts you will see on the typical car. Dry carbon invole a lot more steap to make, And the end result is stuning you come out with the parts is much lighter then wet lay, and much stroger. The basic rule of compost material. the more resin you used the weaker and heaver it get.
Tc said. by using his dry carbon parts. the car is 600 lb lighter then E46M3. this put Carbon roadster power to weight ratio close to Porsche Turbo and Ferrari F430 and can use 265 at front and 295 rear. This is a very few car in the market can out run or out perform most of "exotic car" you can buy.
Tc himself was kind enought, to let me test drive it. first you open the door and you will notice nicely trim Recaro pole postion seat with custom leather.
slide into the seat. put on seat belt. turn the key on, you can heard the family S52 engine sounds from Engine bay. and A deep low sounds also come from Tc custom cat back system.
depress the clutch and put into first gear. let the car roll out. you will notice the weight really make a big different. here. You hardly notice the weight of engine unlike E46, and the car just keep acc hard no mater which gear you are in. and if you change gear fast enought you will still burn tire at 3th gear. and the brake, since TC chance all the brake caiper and pad to PFC mono block and PFC pads. with such light weight car, that just pure amazing and the double adj TC kline shock were sweet too, you can feel every bump, trash on the road, but not too senstive you have to do any major correction
I have to say BMW done a very impress job on MZ4, hte steering and shifting is much improve compare to stander Z4.
And I am strongly believer of Light weight car is much fun to drive then a Hight HP heavey car. but when you can add light weight and BIG HP and the quality of BMW and TC kline, that make into one of best combo you can dream for CAR
