So, my BC button on the stalk (left-hand side) is not cycling through the OBC functions, e.g., temp, avg mpg, clock, etc. It was working when I bought the car but has mysteriously stopped. It will display the radio stations, so I don't think it's faulty bulbs in the cluster. Any clues?? Maybe a fuse? If so where's it located? engine compartment? TIA...

Do you have an owners manual? The instructions are in there on how to PROGRAM this feature. :)

The "remote" feature is secondary to the instrument cluster's CCD (Check Control Display)..which is it's primary function. If you have a Priority 1 or Priority 2, or Priority 3 warning...it has first dibs on this display and if its a Priority 1 warning...will not yield for OBC features to display. (this is all explained in the owners manual) :) So push the button on the right side of the instr cluster to make sure there are no Check Control warnings.

Another way to lose this "remote" OBC feature is if the car has been disconnected from it's power source (the battery). (this is also explained in the owners manual) :) You will need to re-program all or the OBC features you want displayed. (see image below)

EDIT: INSERT NEW IMAGE W/INSTRUCTIONS

Hmm, well it looks like CarDomain's website is having glitches today....so hopefully this will work better...it's the instructions from an e34 owner's manual (even better, yet!) :)

I have the instructions on how to program the remote features from my e38 owners manual...it is basically the same except...we have a MID (multi-informational display) and the manual refers to it as that instead of the OBC buttons and our "set" button is your "S/R "button...but you should get the gist.

If you still can't "program" any of the OBC features in the "remote" function...disconnect the negative battery cable for approx 15 min (hopefully you have the radio's anti-theft CODE (it won't operate without it) and instructions on how to reset the OBC's HOUR/DATE etc.)
