Hey everyone,
I just put my down payment in on a new Z4 3.0si that is being custom ordered for me by my local dealership. I got:

The sport package ($1200)
Silver Metallic Paint ($475?)
Power Soft Top ($750)

Total price I haggled down to $41,225 and the sales rep ("client advisor") was telling me that they were making no money on the car and her manager almost hit the floor when he heard what a great deal she was giving me. Just wondering what you guys think of the deal. Did I do good?

I am actually leasing it and the net result is that I am paying $4,000 up front (including security deposit, etc) and then $402 / mo for 30 months. This includes all state taxes, etc. Waht do you guys think?

I have a 2006 Z4 3.0si automatic with all options but navi and M sport seats. I put $900 down and paying $490/mo for 30 months. Why put such a large down payment on a lease?

Well I technically put down $1200 something as the "customer down payment". The rest of the money I put down was the "due at signing" amount, which includes the first month's lease, last month's lease (security deposit) and other various fees and taxes. Did you put $900 in total at signing or did you put down $900 on top of the other required fees that I mentioned above?

Ok, so looks like I was in the ballpark, but maybe didn't get the ultimate deal like the saleslady wanted to have me believe. Anyone else want to provide their input?

I bought a 2005 Z4 3.0 last year. I got the premium and sports packages, which included almost every thing and the bi-xenon lights. I did get them to throw in the hard windscreen and chrome exhaust tips. The premium package included the power top, leather, auto wipers, etc. The list on the car was $48k. BMW was giving the dealer a $4500 kick back at that time (June '05). I paid slightly over $41k for the car. So, you may have gotten a small deal, but not a good one IMHO. Oh, I almost forgot, it was slightly less than $41 since I opted for the IPod connection (about $400) which was later determined to be incompatible with the premium radio. So that money was refunded.

It would be nice if you could mention dealership where you got so nice price.

you are pretty much paying invoice, but that dealership is getting another 2000 back from BMW north America--tell them to take more off ---or get your money back. The si's are out there. I am currently in the market and have found a bunch of deals--just looking for the right options. Also turn your downpayment money into multiple security deposits so you get it back.

The dealership in question is Gault Autosport BMW in Endicott, NY.

$1k below invoice (in August, $2k incentive).

I went to two dealerships, told them I'd give them $1k profit and showed them that I knew their numbers. One dealership wanted to play games so I left. The other dealership accepted my offer with no haggling, and has really treated me well.

Did they charge you advertisement fee ($400) over negotiated price?

At signing, there was an $18 title fee, $24 license fee, first month's payment, one month's security deposit, and $399 doc fee if that's what you're talking about.
