Well about a month ago I bought new 17x8's for my 318i, and replaced those horrible 15" hubcabs. I of course had BMW throw those away. Then I thought about winter performance.

The new tires on my car are Yokohama A520s, with substantially less traction that my previous tires. And of course I do not think that I can fit winter tires onto my car w/o new rims, and I really do NOT want to buy new rims/tires again less than a month later.
Yes, I know I should have either waited or saved the old tires, but does anyone know how much worse my traction will be with my new tires(ulta-high performance says Yokohama) as compared to my previous all season tires? So far they have of course been great in dry weather, and do at least as well in wet weather as my other tires- though maybe I atm am just not driving that fast/aggressive...but anyways...

A520's in snow? You are crazy! You'll slide off the road with those bad boys come heavier snow.....at least put some all-seasons on your car, actual snows would be the best though.

We have 17" snow tires that will work on your wheels. The best size for the winter will be 215/45R17.
Let me know if I can help.
Thank you

Really? I didn't think any snow tires would fit, as there isn't a great deal of clearance for larger tires on my '95 318i.

Very good to know, I may have to look into it this week- thanks. :)
