What's up everybody? Just got my first car a few months ago- a 1995 525i. It's the coolest thing on the planet! Anyways it's completely stock. The only thing i've done is put about 1000 miles on it. it's got about 97000 miles. Anyways i'd like to ask two things. First if the guru's could give me any advice on my car I'd appreciate it. Anything as far as upgrades or performance would help. Second of all I need your help to shup up my cousin's friend. he claims his 1992 Nissan SE will do 160mph. I laughed in his face. The 92 nissan se only has a 4 speed automatic. it's ragged out and he has never changed the oil! Please tell me my car will smoke him. i think he may get off the line a little quicker but I think i'll get him in the higher gears.

first of all i would like to welcome you to b.f.c. i just became a member myself a couple of days ago. this forum has everything you need. the other e34 owners on here are also awsome. they know their shit. second, you should put dinan or ac schnitzer suspension on it. those two brands are what you want to look for. Put the Dinan chip in it, turbo it, short throw shifter, put 18" rims on it, tint the windows.....dress it up man and while your at it make it fast as hell. get some pics on here to. last, YOUR E34 WILL SMOKE THE SHIT OUT OF THAT 92 NISSAN!!! + that SE will not go 160 unless it had motor work done to it. thats pretty funny he thinks it can beat your 525i:lol

2nd thing I am not sure if ur stock will help ,, before I got a 525i model 91 with Vanos engine and a supercharge I used to be mad with other car but my brother made an accident and the car is gone ,,

The only way that SE will do 160 is if he's being towed by a BMW down a steep hill.

Hah. i like the tow joke. i should tell him that one. Thank you for the advice. I'm a little gunshy on the turbocharge though. Could this damage your engine?

Well welcome to the boards...i too also joined just a few days ago...Your e34 will smoke his nissan, especially if its an auto...one word explains it all....torque. Anyway this is one of the best references you can have for your car...enjoy it, you've got low miles on it...its going to last a long while

Welcome to the forums man, and yes like everyone said your car will smoke that nissan.

As for some upgrades deff go with a chip (Jim Conforti), s50 cams and exhaust. That will give you enough power before you find yourself wanting to go down the FI road.

Welcome!!!!!! I like the vogtland springs the best. They seem to have the lowest stance while still retaining a quality ride. Most suggest pairing these with koni sport adjustables. Mine has vogtlands, but I have not ordered the shocks yet. The conforti chip seems to be the best value upgrade. Turbo is great and there are a few turbo E34's on here and in the forced induction category. There are a few members who can put together turbo setups for a great price and that is going to be the best way to get lots of power. I was considering dropping in an E34 M5 motor, but the motor alone is $7k. For that you could do turbo and suspension. I am starting to try and put together my turbo setup and build the extra motor I have. Good luck. Bimmerforums is GREAT!!!!!

You might try the Gruppe M intake, its carbon fiber. Also exhaust (e.g. remus) and chip and few things like that and youre done. My advice dont try to go overkill w/ a 525i youll end up wishing you got a higher engine.

I definitely won't go overboard cause i dont have the money!! I've heard that performance headers are good. Anyways, whats the s50 cams's claim to fame? i kno they are new camshafts but how do they increase performance?
