I just got a 2001 740i (e38). The CD changer loads and reads the CD but there is no sound. I unbolted the changer and think I might be missing a wire/connector. There is a three pin attached and a thin black coax. There is a spot for another connector, but it is not there. What is it and should it be there?

Also, the thin black coax runs from the back of the cd changer to the back of my MK3 Nav unit. I don't think this is right. Where should it go?

This is my first post...so thanks in advance for any help!

The other connector is for cars without DSP, the black coax as you call it, should go directly into the preamp/tuner or was it into the amplifier. I forget, but the NAV does not sound correct.

OK..so if I understand correctly the six pin that is missing is not needed since I have DSP. I wonder if the reason I have no sound from CD only is because the thin black plug (coax or whatever it is) is not plugged into the right place?

Got it figured out. Some genius at the used car dealership had wired the GPS antenna to the DSP amp and the digital audio out from the cd changer to the nav unit. Thanks!
