View Full Version : Just bought a 00' 740i Sport Blk/Blk
bmw_e30 08-11-2006, 02:06 PM Some thoughts on it so far:
It's pretty comfortable.
It's pretty big.
It's super safe.
No heated seats in a 70k car? My E36 M3 has them.......whatever.
It looks good after being out for over 12 years old now. My car has 85k on it and it looks brand new.
Super expensive parts. It makes my M3's seem cheap....
I'm doing a oil change/tranny fluid+filter change/diff fluid tomorrow.
500 bucks. Ouch.

The car is worth it, the best bmw ever :)

Not when you're used to doing it on your own for 60.00 dollars in Redline fluids and an hour of your time....
But I guess this is the big leagues. You gotta pay to play.

E38's came out in 94' in Europe and 95' in America.
They're just about 12 years old.
And they were designed in the late 80's early 90's...... Shit, the cars basics are over 20 years old in design.
It just shows you how well BMW's age.

Do it yourself for like $180

You need a special machine to evacuate the tranny fluid in the torque convertor. If not, you're only draining some of the tranny fluid.
Believe me. I would have done it my way if I could.
sleepy740 08-11-2006, 08:38 PM i change my oil myself...its very simple...dont know about the other stuff...i wanna 7 sport tho :) have fun paying for these parts...you can buy the car for way cheap, but remember, it cost $68k brand new...and you got your car in cali...do you really need heated seats ;) welcome to the owners club of the best cars ever!!!

that is absolutly true... i think that the lines used on the BMW's (but specially on the 7's) that they will never go out of style... it's a CLASSIC!

rsnpride 08-14-2006, 09:04 PM Beautiful car. You should get clear corners, side marker lights, and updated 2001 Tailights.

Dude, It was just a question, you don't have to be an ass.:nono Show some class!
bmw_e30 08-15-2006, 11:49 AM Thanks for the kind words.
The car is exactly what I was looking for.
I just did an oil change, tranny flush w/filter+gasket and diff oil. The car is a champ.
Qsilver7 08-15-2006, 12:40 PM the pics are nice....BUT...learn how to turn the image size down if you're gonna use them on the internet. Anything over 800x600 will make "most" everyone have to scroll side to side and up and down to see the whole pic...thus loosing the image's perspective. (most of us are on 15", 17", or 19" monitors...not 42" plasma screens!:lol )
Using 2000x1600 ... unless for fine details focused in on a small subject...is WAY too large . :)
