Autobahn is downtown but I'd stay away from there.

does that mean autobahn is bad or its in a bad part of town? I'm living in downtown KC missouri right now.

I hate having to take my car to a shop... but I guess its not so bad if you already know what the problem is and they just need to do the work. Shops are really a problem when you want them to diagnose something.

That being said, just call around and see who is the most reasonable. Hoffkemeyer (sp?) would be a good place to start. KC autosport could handle it too. I might even call NTB to see if they would be comfortable doing work on your car. Cheap and their corporate nature means they won't cheat you.

Also... A CCA membership is a good idea. The local chapter is pretty active and can be really helpful with tech sessions when you start coming around.

actually, i wouldn't mind helping but my weekends are booked for the foreseeable future. since it's a wheel bearing i'm sure you're wanting to do it ASAP.

star motors seems pretty reasonable. They quoted me 220 for a rear wheel bearing job. In tx the shop qoutes were around $300

star motors its a e30 frount and a vw brat rear end tehy have 2 a red and a green, i think the red one hasent been used in several years thou.

I took my 318is there for a rear wheel bearing, Insp. II and a DE check. They found some other stuff and calle dtwice to ask if I was ok with them replacing something. Very upfront and honest place. I haven't been back, and haven't gone to another shop, but as long as I'm within an hour of KC, they will always get my business. They earned it.

The area around school is a real shithole. Roads are fun to drive as long as I don't get lost! I'm studying for our first quiz monday. Don't know what to expect so I'm stressing right now. There's another motorcross guy in my class with a miata. We both live at CT and plan on going out to the track at Topeka sometime. If schedule permits.
