I'm living in downtown KC missouri right now. rcM3 08-12-2006, 05:00 AM They are bad. Wheel bearing huh? I hate having to take my car to a shop... but I guess its not so bad if you already know what the problem is and they just need to do the work. Shops are really a problem when you want them to diagnose something. That being said, just call around and see who is the most reasonable. Hoffkemeyer (sp?) would be a good place to start. KC autosport could handle it too. I might even call NTB to see if they would be comfortable doing work on your car. Cheap and their corporate nature means they won't cheat you. Also... A CCA membership is a good idea. The local chapter is pretty active and can be really helpful with tech sessions when you start coming around. ///m42 sport 08-12-2006, 06:05 PM rcm3, I saw your car today when i went to the silverwood apts. 96_328is_CO 08-14-2006, 09:38 AM you wanna help me do a rear wheel bearing? actually, i wouldn't mind helping but my weekends are booked for the foreseeable future. since it's a wheel bearing i'm sure you're wanting to do it ASAP. rcM3 08-14-2006, 04:21 PM rcm3, I saw your car today when i went to the silverwood apts. Theodore 08-18-2006, 02:14 PM Got back from Hafkemeyer. Really nice guys, straight foward and explained/showed me everything that was in need of repair. Very reasonable diag. chrg @ $22 Will def. have them do the repairs. I took my 318is there for a rear wheel bearing, Insp. II and a DE check. They found some other stuff and calle dtwice to ask if I was ok with them replacing something. Very upfront and honest place. I haven't been back, and haven't gone to another shop, but as long as I'm within an hour of KC, they will always get my business. They earned it. rcM3 08-24-2006, 07:49 PM m42sport: hows your term going? I saw a 95 avus blue m3 today in the student lot, any idea who that might be? btw.... make sure you come out to the next bbq. and how is your adjustment to kc going? The area around school is a real shithole. Roads are fun to drive as long as I don't get lost! I'm studying for our first quiz monday. Don't know what to expect so I'm stressing right now. There's another motorcross guy in my class with a miata. We both live at CT and plan on going out to the track at Topeka sometime. If schedule permits. sooselekt 09-21-2006, 07:29 AM You following me? Should I be worried? :redspot Yes. I go to KCUMB. I start Monday in their 2 year Masters of Biomedical Science program. You? I bought my car from someone who used to work there. |
