Hello all,
Any ideas on how to keep the armrest in the up position for a track day? It gets in the way when I shift so I have to leave it up or remove it.
I was thinking of using some sort of bungee cord solution, one end on the armrest and the other end to the back seat somewhere. Anyone know where to get this sort of elastic material in the SF Bay Area?
Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Bungee cord material? Most hardware stores carry it - I know I've seen it on the spool at Orchard....

Remove it and sell it! Thats what I did. Replace it with the non-armrest console unit. There are a ton of non-racer types that would love to have the armrest.
As for me. I did the "arm rest delete" mod

Thanks for the help guys, I ended up getting some thin surgical tubing from a medical supply store.
-ursa-, any instructions how to remove the annoying armrest? I don't know where to begin.

Sure It all snaps into place and the arm rest is bolted to the transmission tunnel with 3 bolts. The arm rest and the consol are two pieces. Remove the rear ash tray and I believe that there is a bolt back there that secures the console. Remove the shift boot and move the hazard switch, there is a screw that holds the front of the consol there. Remove the front ash tray and there are two more screws. Gently pry the plastic pieces. I may have forgotten something but I believe this should cover it.

I just wedge the rear middle seatbelt clip beween the armrest and the passenger seat. It kind of tethers the armrest in the up position. Just make sure the passenger (if you have one) doesn’t move the seat back too much
