Just wanted to drop in and say hello from California. I haven't been posting as much lately as I try to get settled down here (things are still pretty hectic). I do lurk, however! It's been hot as heck over here, over 110 for almost a week straight recently! I still need to contact my local chapter of the BMWCCA, too, but I am hesitant to after hanging out with you guys! Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing great!

Sorry Beastie, I was listing some stuff for sale, and arranging to meet my fiancee in Oakland tommorow.

Stuff is going pretty good with me, trying to get the Navy to pay me some money it owes me ($4000 or so), and trying to sell off a car and some parts I have. When all that is said and done I hope to have $10k back in my bank account. I bought a POS Mitsubishi Mirage to commute in (99 miles per day), it gets an average of 36 mpg with the AC on! No fun to drive, though. After I sell my Mustang and get back from a deployment (sometime next year) I am going to seriously look into getting some kind of project. Right now I am just trying to help my dad clear out his myriad of cars (1970 Chevelle, 1967 Firebird, 1969 Camaro, 1970 Pinto, 1973 Pinto, 2x 1934 Ford trucks, 1953 Plymouth Suburban, 1970 Camaro, 1995 Chevy Silverado, 1985 Ford Ranger, 1984 SVO Mustang; his drivers are a 2005 Ranger 4.0 and a 2006 F250 turbo-diesel). As you can see, that will take a while! I may end up getting one as a project, but I was more hoping for a BMW coupe of some type (3.0cs or a 635CSi maybe). A 2002 is still an option as well, I do have a year to think about it! Anyhow, I hope everyone else is doing great out in Hawaii!

No, 2bbl 350, but only 38k original miles. :) The 1970 Camaro has 80k original miles. The 1967 Firebird was bought new by my Grandmother. :p

The original Ford Exploder!

Me, put 90K miles on a brand new 71 Vega. Took 36 months to kill it.

Your driving, or the rust?

The Pinto is in the middle of getting a built 2.3l turbo motor making somewhere near 400hp. It also only weighs 2200lbs with this motor! It's my dad's idea of a good drag car. :)

Good morning. BTW, I am selling off my M5 pieces. They are listed in the appropriate places, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

No rust, it was my drive train abuse that took care of matters.

Hey Tom,

I'm actually gonna be over your way real soon, both me and the car. :buttrock

How long should it take for my 2002 to get to Oakland? I've booked it to ship out on August 22nd, but not sure how long it'll take to get there. I'm plannin on cruisin thru Yosemite, thru Death Valley, Vegas, Grand Canyon, and onward to Ohio. :cool

Should take 2 weeks - 1 month, depending on shipping traffic. If you'll be in the area, stop by. I'm in Fresno, so if you are taking CA-99 or I-5 you'll pass right by. I'm about 3 hours south of Oakland. On a side note, don't leave the bay Area anywhere near 5PM on any weekday unless your car is not worried about idling in traffic for 2+ hours. Lots of cars overheat there.
