Im getting a system installed soon and was gona buy a 15inch sub, Would it be better if i got a 12 to fit in the ski pass hole??
And another question is the size of my ski pass on my 94model 325i convertible, the same as the ski pass on a non convertible 325i because i been looking at the DIYs but dont know if its the same?? My boot is cut small for the roof to fold in.

How are you going to fit a 12" under the soft-top compartment? I measure 11" from the floor of the trunk to the bottom of that compartment at the highest point. It seems to get narrower the further out you go from the center.
I have been trying to figure out what to do about that myself.

a pair of 8" woofers made in a box to slide in that useless area under the boot cover in the trunk should be a great fix.

I think if I were gonna put a woofer in the ski pass area, I'd use maybe two 6" speakers built into an enclosure that sat in the space and could be unplugged and removed when I needed the pass-through for skis or cargo. You don't need a huge woofer for decent bass.

that's funny.....you figured out a way to break the laws of physics? 15 or 12 in the ski pass? sure, just get out your jigsaw and remove all sheet metal and convertible top.
I had 2 12's originally, but the enclosure took the entire back half of the trunk, front half with amps ect.
I settles on 2 Kicker L7 8's directly under the top with amps mounted on the back of it to retain back half of trunk, and still sounds great. You might squeeze some 10s in there (that require a tiny box) in you angle them...

<font size="-3">I had this brainstorm (please forgive the bad attempt at a diagram), of having 2 10" subs in a box built so that they are angled to fire through the ski pass. Any thought on this possible working?

It represents the follies of not previewing a post.......when I said please forgive the bad attempt at a diagram, , i was definatly not referring to that debacle of a diagram haha
