I was browsing some BMW boards and found the solution for the high speedometer. Apparently, it is TEST 10 in the OBC. I am going to try it tomorrow. Has anyone messed around with TEST 10?

TEST 10 "0.97 EICH"
Setting - Speedometer correction

The speedometer in the instrument panel can be calibrated from the OBC. Function 10 is used for this.
Get a stopwatch and search for a flat, deserted highway with km or miles marks. Keep a constant speed of about 60 miles or 100 Km on the speedometer. Measure the time it requires to drive either 2 miles or 2 Km. The actual speed will be:

Actual Speed = Actual Distance (in miles or Km) / Time (in sec) / 0.36

New Correction Value = Old Correction Value * Actual Speed / Speedometer
or
New Correction Value = Old Correction Value * Speedometer / Actual Speed

for which model is this? Can you do something like this to an E32?

found the info on how to unlock the E32 OBC from www.e38.org (they have links across the top for other BMW models...like the e32...I clicked that link then scrolled down to Electronics...and found this link on how to UNLOCK the e32 OBC: http://home.iae.nl/users/bts/obc.htm

I'm not sure if the correction value is the same...but TEST 10 is for speed correction. You may want to search the old Roadfly E32 archives to see if there is more information on how to correct speedometer.
