///MINI 11-25-2002, 02:14 PM Sunir, it says "unavailable." I wanna see.
///Mracer 11-25-2002, 02:17 PM Nice vid! One question though, how come the entire thing just shows you on the straights? Couldn't the LTW hit the apex in the turns :laugh just j/k.
Is the bumper / splitter fixed yet?
///M LIFEŠ 11-26-2002, 06:31 AM nice nice
///M LIFEŠ 11-26-2002, 06:34 AM Also two things..do you have a SSK? and what is that tape thing on the steering wheel?
sunir 11-26-2002, 12:05 PM the tape is central positioning for the steering wheel....simply a litte reference point for when I turn the wheel 90+ deg....such as a decreasing radius type turn....really don't need it but it doesn't hurt to have it there. I do not have an SSK....I am running the stock shifter assembly....throws are a bit longer.

Sorry mike couldn't make the video any longer and he just decided to show passing shots...the server should be getting upgraded *very* soon so there won't be any unavailable screens again and longer videos can be made :)

Curious...what kind of times do you turn @ Summit? Big track, not Jefferson.
sunir 11-26-2002, 02:15 PM seat time days....a friend of mine timed me using a stop watch and said I'd turned 1min 27.xx a few laps with most of my laps around the 1.28-1.29 range. The main circuit was heated up nicely from the previous run group...there wasn't too much traffic on track at all and the track conditions were sunny upper 60s...it was a very fun day:D :) .....although next year I'd like to get a hot lapper for more accurate times. This was my 1st year on track with a total of 9 events at 3 tracks: Summit Point, VIR, and Pocono (next year I hope to add Watkins Glenn, Lime Rock Park, and hopefully Mid Ohio and/or Road Atlanta). The LTW is mostly stock less HFM kit, and coilovers which were on the car only for my last 2 events of this year (both at Summit Point).....safety modifications will make their way onto the car as well. I've learned a lot this year and cant wait till next spring:D :buttrock !

H Man 11-26-2002, 09:24 PM Sweet video. I think the first shot your passing me.:(
I'd like to get a cam for next year. It'd be nice to review the tapes to see how I was doing on my turn in points and exits. Just another item to the wish list. #546! Are you going to be using the cam next year?
///M LIFEŠ 11-26-2002, 09:26 PM bear with my ignorance...what is an apex?
H Man 11-30-2002, 11:58 AM ///M Life - the apex is the point where the car comes closest to the inside of the turn. The real challenge is knowing where the correct apex is.
Bimmerhead 11-30-2002, 07:13 PM Sunir,
Very nice!!:)
Summit Point is one of my favorite tracks because it has everything. The "turn 10" to "turn 1" straight lends itself well to Baby's rolling acceleration.
Good job there in WV.:)
The guys form Dvinsight once videotaped us sliding our cars in a parking lot in Bensalem, PA.
I'll have to look into that tape and when it will be available.
Cheers
sunir 12-02-2002, 11:06 AM man I can only imagine how fast baby hauls down the front straight at Summit:eek: .....hope she's doin' alright!
Hey I am going to get a rollcage/bar in the LTW for next year....I talked to Tony at VAC....and also Mitch Pipper here in Virginia....Tony does good work from what I've seen and so does Mitch....but Mitch is closer.....what do you think?
Unfortunately Mike edited the turns off the video since most folks just seem to want to see the passing.....but more to come next season:D :) !

Great driving Sunir! I remember when me and Andy were watching that race go down and seeing you move from 8th place on the grid and finish 2nd. We were cheering you on with every car you passed. That was a great ride you gave me the day before at Summit. Hope to see more action next season!
sunir 12-02-2002, 12:56 PM thanks for the compliment but this is not a "race"....it is actually a DE --- in my particular situation I was out for seat-time sessions with a given organization involved, NASA in this case, for which the event is essentially an on-track driver's education program:)
Seat-time = practice = improving and getting faster & better, and fun at the same time!
Racing = Unmatched fun but with huge expenses....
