i have decided to go with a 225 45 15 toyo Ra1. I am running stock rims which where 205 60 15 and a 15X7 rim. I have a 95 325i with minor bolt ons, which equals not a lot of power. Would this size be what i am looking for or another size.

I also have thought about going with RA-1 225's, but on 16's. So I would take this discussion one step further (and don't mean to hijack...). I am currently running 245/45-16 on 7.5 inch rims that have great grip. How much less grip might there be with 225/50's? It seems there is about 1/2 inch difference in tread width between the two.... Would the 225's have enough grip?

That's REALLY small... I run a 225/50-16 RA-1, which is the proper sidewall profile for an E36. 225/45-15 is quite a bit shorter...

I would run a taller tire, so it doesn't mess with your gearing or speedo. Also the side wall will be fine running a taller tire because they make these tires to handle the extra pressure.

regardless of how strong they make the tire, the taller tires sidewall will still flex more than the shorter tires sidewall...
