Still trying to track down the source of an very strong fuel odor. I have a Fuel Safe fuel cell, 22-gallon, in a '90 M3. Picture link below. A smoke test indicated no leaks; we thought it was the vent, but that was a dead end.

This morning I drained and removed the bladder (the car's, not mine). No evidence of any leaks. Because the bladder is more than 7 years old (mfr date of 4-99), I've ordered a replacement. The gasket around the fill plate looked just o.k., not great, but nothing obviously wrong with it either.

Anyone have any other suggestions? I am out of ideas if replacing the bladder and gasket does not work.
