I've been in contact with IOport, and they say that the 61902 (street bar, four point) is not designed to work with the convertible. Too bad, because $270 is not too bad on the wallet. Has anyone used one in a 'vert with success?

They say they have something else for $270 that bolts to the floor in four points that will fit the convertible, but don't have pics for it. I'm halfway wondering if it's a Kirk bar.

What have E36 convertible owners done? I realize I went about this kinda bass ackwards, but I really wanted a convertible for a daily driver... it's just been drafted into occasional track duty. Course that also leaves me in a relatively small universe of gearheads, since track junkies wouldn't be so silly as to buy a softtop in the first place.

Talk to a guy with the screen name of T2 over on m3forum.com. He has a custom rollbar design that bolts in and out in 15 minutes. His solution is a little pricey, though. It's $750 shipped.

What groups allows only popups? The BMW club only lets verts run if they have a rollbar.

TC Design in Milpitas can cook something up but I bet it will not be anywhere near $270.

Hooked On Driving allows the popups but not the hard top. Thunderhill itself allows the hard top but not popups for their track days.

Dammitall, all I really need is the main hoop, I could take it from there. Sigh. Maybe the Autopower four point would be a good start, anyway.
