Dear All,

I did my first club race at Summit point this weekend. My car is a IP "lite" car. (No cams/big brakes). I found the 3.15 diff a little tall... I am debating over what is a "good" compromise diff to go with.. I can only potentially afford one.. 3.46? 3.64? 3.73? Any thoughts would be appreciated..

Regards,
Mo

Mo, 3.64 or 3.73 would be a good one for Summit.

THose are also good for VIR.

I'd say it really depends on what tracks you'll be running at. I went with a 3.64 simply because I'm still driving to the track (it's not bad at all, except for fuel mileage) and because the only track I should really have to worry about running out of revs will be California Speedway. It seems to me that 3.73 is pretty common for those who are on tight tracks only, or who have the budget to swap between diffs.

3.73 still works well at VIR.. but it also depends on power. I BARELY top out at VIR, but Im also 30hp short of some of the other IP guys. (Im IP-lite too)

3.73 here as well, cammed car, I get 28mpg on the way to the track. Freshly rebuilt motor.

3.73 for me. No problems at WGI, the fastest track on run.

3.73 or 3.91
The 3.91 I've been running with my 5 speed was perfect at WGI last year with an 8000rpm rev limiter. Since my tire diameters are very similar to most e36s and I used an e36m3 5speed, I would think that a 3.91 would work at most tracks. Otherwise, the 3.73 would do the trick.

Regardless of the ratio....go with Diffsonline for the best!
